RE: MPG & slide awning tie down: Pro & Con

We have a 28' Maverick towing a 2003 Impala and get 6.5 to 7. You could check your weight. If you are heavy that will not help MPG. We are always under 14000 on the MH and our car is at 3700lb. Excess weight will drive your MPG up fast.

RE: Here we go again !!

We have only had 36" of snow this year. Just went 100 miles round trip to get LP for our first trip of the year. DW said coming home we are headed south lets keep going. Could not yet but soon. Now I can see the tops of our Max Vents and Air Conditioner but nothing else.

RE: Weight distribution problem

We have a E450 with much the same problem. We added a receiver to the front and put a Hitch Haul on it. Put some of the items normally stored in the rear on it. Added 300lb to front and got the rear under max. load. Must make sure you do not interrupt the air flow to the radiator. Also remember you can not see this load so be mindful of the extra in front of you.

RE: Brake Buddy Problem

Just got a answer from BB on my problem. They could not find anything wrong but sent a new breakaway switch. I will install the unit next week and hope that that is the problem

Brake Buddy Problem

We have the Brake Buddy in our 2003 Impala. On our last trip (snow and ice) at about 7 hours on the road we pulled in for a little rest and upon applying the brakes in our motorhome, the remote showed braking and the break-away went into alarm. The alarm only went off when we let up on the brakes in the motorhome. Afterwards, any time we touched the brakes in the motorhome, the alarm sounded for the break-away switch in the toad. Several visual inspections showed nothing to be wrong- although everything out there was covered in ice. During the alarms, we suspected the Brake Buddy was applying the brakes on the toad too much- causing us to drag it. We were forced to disconnect the Brake Buddy in order to get the units home. We have an email into Brake Buddy, but haven't heard anything back from them- must be shut down for Christmas. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this and can tell us what might be the problem.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Took unit out for a drive and gas up. Cleaned out the back and repacked both front and back. Weighed the unit and found out that we are only 50 pounds under front but 650 under the rear on weight. Will be going to WI in 2 weeks for a couple of days then home for a short time and then leaving for the south.

RE: 2008 E450 front hitch

Had a receiver put on the front of our unit. I believe it was made by Draw Tite. Have found out that it works well for us. We use it to hold our patio items. All you need to do is make sure you have good air flow to the engine. Best of luck.

RE: weigh station

Take your unit to a Cat scale. They will give you your front axle, rear axle, and trailer (toad) weight for $9.00. I do it at least once every long trip. Like to know for tire safety.

RE: problems with Camping World

We have had both good and bad experiences at Camping World. The worst was in Chicago. DW was talking to sales person and another customer walked up and he just walked away with the second customer. On the way out was asked if we found everything we wanted and I told the Manager about the problem. She looked at me like I had a problem. I really did and it was the way the DW was treatd.

Do not forget that Cracker Barrel will let you stay overnight. A little noisy around 5AM buy OK.

RE: What does a slide weigh?

I have a 2008 Georgie Boy with the same layout. I believe that the 8500 is the weight of rear axle.
