RE: Florida SunPass

I know the regular transponders, both "Sun Pass" and "EZ Pass" have to be mounted low or the cab-over blocks the signal. I had to put mine near the bottom of the windshield.

RE: aux batt switch

It should control a relay that disconnects the coach batteries. If its off none of the 12 volt lights etc in the coach will be working.

RE: Seneca suspension

You may still want to add the rear "Trac Bar". My 08 came with the 19,000 rear springs but still had the tail push with the toad. The Trac Bar took that away.
Did you have the guy in Wilder do your work? He's adding the KONI's for me next week.

RE: Looking for Quality in a Super C

I think there is a lot of quality out there. The problem is you only hear from those who are unhappy and many over very minor issues.
I have an 08 Jayco Seneca and out side of one loose water connection under the sink and the Carefree elec awning needing an adjustment it has been flawless. I would buy it again tomorrow.
That doesn't mean some of the design work couldn't have made better use of space etc., but as to QUALITY and WORKMANSHIP I'm very happy.

RE: Seneca Fuel Filter

Did it once and never again, it gets changed at the dealer with every oil change. Took me almost 3 hours. Same issue light came on Sunday afternoon right as we were pulling into a CG for the night. Had to make a hook from coat hangar to hold the short end so I could put it back together.
It is better to fill it first but that makes the filter harder to put back on since it is heavier and harder to hold and turn. If you don't pre-fill it could take as many as 100 pumps to prime the filter.
Forgot to add that I've checked(about an extension wire) and according to several dealers you can't even buy the connectors to make your own extension. They don't show the female end as a seperate part.
GOOD LUCK

RE: Jayco Senaca Warranty

Glad they found it. Did they tell you what they had to do, or did they send it back to the factory?

RE: Use of Portable Generator with Super C

You can connect with the 30 amp adapter, I actually made my own 15-20/50 amp adapter just to keep enough power on the MH to run the fridge the night before we are getting ready to leave. I have to pull up to far from my 50 amp to hook up the toad and stay connected.
As to the "Quiet Diesel". It is a lot quieter than the gasers. I think you will be pleasing surprised once you hear it running.

RE: Insurance for Jayco Seneca HD

I have mine (2008) listed with Progressive at $120,000 and paying just at $1,000 a year with full replacement, $500 deductible(disappearing) and road service.
I have the cars and the house with a different company. Had the MH with them and Progressive beat them by $$350 a year. Agent found the better deal, called me and I switched the MH. (She sells both companies)
Remember Progressive leans heavily on credit rating.

RE: Jayco vs. Gulfstream

Thanks! We'll keep looking in the Jayco direction. We would ideally like a coach less than 35', but hard to find. Leaning toward the Seneca 34SS
And remember that 2009 was the last year for the 34.

RE: Jayco Senaca Warranty

Did you but it from a Jayco Dealer? If not I would find one and take it to them.
It could very well be an adjustment issue. We have an 08 and have not had any leak problems even after sitting through some 1" per hour rains this past summer. The topper should be protecting the majority of the slide.

RE: Venting on Jayco Under-Body Above-Axle Water Tank

On our 2001 Designer the overflow was on drivers side right behind the tire (close to the frame). When I filled the tank I would watch for water to start running out, never had a problem. Just be sure you stay close by to turn the water off as soon as it starts running out.

RE: cleaning drains

NEVER!! You don't want anything that caustic in the holding tanks..
Why is that?
Products like Drano, Liquid Plumber, etc are all heavier than water and could sit in the bottom of the tank and cause a reaction with other products. Every tank I've seen usually has a slight bow in the bottom which is where they would collect. Also you could cause damage to the sensors since they are metal(usually brass).

RE: cleaning drains

I might be wrong, but isn't draino and some of the others safe for plastic pipes, and since you have plastic pipes in your RV then it would be safe to use every now and then. read the label on the products to make sure
NEVER!! You don't want anything that caustic in the holding tanks.. We've been in a TT/FW or MH for the last 33 years and have never had a drain problem except, as was mentioned, some hair in the shower and that has only been on the screen. Never a clogged trap or tank.
There are some specific products to remove any possible accumulated grease/soap in the tank but you need to use those with fresh water and then drive the unit to mix things up and then dump at your next destination.

RE: Slide topper won't retract

Is there debris under the cover. I'd back the two bottom cover screws out and see if there is anything jammed in the cover. I have to clean mine two or three times a year to get rid of leaves and stems. Also had a bird (nest) move in last spring. If you are in an area that just got hit with the snow it may ice accumulation in the cover as well.

RE: 50 amp surge protector

Don't have an "A" got a "Super C" but I wouldn't hook up with out one either. I also have the portable because I've seen pics of what happens to one if there is a lightning strike and I don't want that mess inside.

RE: Seneca utility center questions.

[
I find that hard to believe. In my internet search, I'm finding them all over in various states and dealerships. Not ready yet, still saving my down payment.[/quoteG
GM no longer makes the 4500/5500 Kodiak chassis Jayco bought what stock they could but there will not be anymore unless they find a new chassis supplier. You may find one from this production year, or earlier(09)that were already on order. I thought you were talking about 2011(new). I can assure you that if they were available our dealer would be getting them since he is one of their top 20 dealers.

RE: Seneca utility center questions.

So - what year is your Seneca? Planning on getting a Jayco Seneca next year and would be nice to have this option too.
Good luck! Our dealer can't even order one because they don't have anymore available chassis. He was told they were all spoken for at the Louisville Show.
