RE: My first time calling Good Sam Roadside Service

Sorry you had a bad experience with GSERS. I have used them 3 times over the last several years with excellent results each time. Must be a regional thing. Nope, not a regional thing. I had great service in the middle of Idaho when a fuel line cracked while towing my 5er.

RE: RV Campgrounds discount/saving clubs

Try looking at Passport America. Beware that each campground can impose their own limitations, not necessarily a bad thing, just something you need to know.

RE: Saw something scary this weekend...

As a workamper, I see situations like this way too often. I don't know if the parents assume that campgrounds are the safest places in the world or if they assume that someone else in the campground will babysit the kids for them. Either way it's just wrong.

RE: Out of area warranty coverage

Kind of reminds me of an old Carnac the Magnificent routine. Picture Johnny holding the envelope up to his head. Why not just call the dealer and find out?

RE: Insurance

I heard i should not tell them i plan to full time in the TT. Why would you NOT want to tell them? When you total your rig on the opposite side of the country how are you going to explain that you can't just fly home because the TT was your home. Full time insurance also provides increased reimbursement for belongings that a weekend camper normally wouldn't have in the RV.

RE: The trials of a nw camper.

Never mind all that other stuff. Were the donut holes OK? :B

RE: Annual Leaking Toilet Seal

I just use a regular toilet bowl brush for mine. Open the flapper all the way, give the brush a few spins in the hole and it holds water again.

RE: First timer

I agree with Dick B. Go rent a Class C for one of the races and again for a campground stay. Talk to LOTS of people at each place. Also, try to visit an RV show to see many more choices and end up totally confused.

RE: CONNECTING YOUR TELEVISION

Eyetatoo may be on the right track. You shouldn't need anything more than a power connection to get the menu. Of course, if you can't get to the menu then you can't determine your input. Do you have the owner's manual? Maybe the manufacturer has some basic troubleshooting on their website.

RE: How to find a campground

http://rvparkreviews.com/usually has a link to the campground/park website so you can check rates/amenities directly.

RE: Jack antenna replacement

You don't need to do anything. You can buy just the head which directly replaces the Wingard Batwing. Its a simple bolt on mod. Or even the non-Winegard batwings.

RE: Rain Rain go away! Good Sams have a backup plan?

Yep, GS should have anticipated a monsoon in upstate NY and planned accordingly. :h

RE: Non-state park in Wisconsin

Most campgrounds are packed and noisy that weekend. Your best bet would be finding someplace where you have to backpack in.

RE: STINK

Dumping every 3 days could be contributing to your problem unless you're filling the tank with lots of water just before you dump.

RE: problem with day nite shades

If they have always been hard to move, the strings are probably too tight. Just loosen the screw where the strings attach to the window frame and take a little tension off. Yep, that's what I'd try first. Just loosen each screw slightly as you're holding on to the end of the string. It won't take much to make it right if that's the problem.

RE: What hitch can I get away with ?

I find a 1900 pound fifth wheel to be unlikely. Did you get that off the sticker that shows the max gross weight? Any fifth wheel hitch should handle a 21 ft 5ver. X2. Without a slider you run the risk of taking out your rear truck window in a tight turn. Also, most 5th wheels will exceed the ratings for a half ton truck. Your friend should have stopped at a scale to get real weight on the trailer.

RE: galley tank

I have a keystone Laredo 29rk my wife does about 3 load of dishes and the tank is almost full is it smaller then the gray tank for the shower and sink up stairs Are you saying it's almost full based on the sensors? Those can be very unreliable.

RE: WE PUT THE OFFER IN - BUT ONE CONCERN - LINK ADDED FOR UNIT!

No, it is above the living/kitchen slide going to the roof. About 10" long but very hairline. My SIL is in construction and said it is a hairline fracture and didn't think it would be anything to worry about, but wanted to ask all you experts! Your SIL may be in construction but do his buildings roll down the road at 65 MPH?

RE: Why do your kids keep yelling at our dogs?

And in Virginia State Parks they charge extra for dogs, but let the kids in free. Then pay caretakers to clean up the mess and damage they cause. Dogs and pets don't trash the restrooms, or leave cigarette butts and garbage around all over the campground. X2. I recently suggested to my campground owners that they should charge 'kid' deposits. They already do pet deposits. With the retained deposits for misbehaving/unsupervised kids, they could winter in Tahiti.

RE: Flying J fuel :(

That procedure is NOT unique to Flying J. I've been to lots of places where I had to make 2 trips inside.
