RE: Keystone Bullet Premier

Although we don't have a Bullet we did purchase a Keystone energy toy hauler it's a 2010 model. We have had it over to eastern Wa. in Aug. We took it to Montana in Oct. Did a couple of local week-end camp outs with it , and just got back from a trip threw Wa., Oregon, part of California and Nevada to just out side of reno. We love it . Only problem we ever had was the onan generator had a bad fuel pump from the factory brand new. Warranty took care of that. Fit and finish are top notch and the dealer we bought it from is great. Tacoma RV was the dealer we purchased form. Had excellent service. Judy D

RE: First trip of the season

Hay we've been to Beverly Dunes last year. We actually use to hunt over in that area every year. I was very impressed the Dunes are clean looks like every one picks up after them selves. Dumpsters available, Port-a-potties on sight etc. and several nice fire pits. Have a great time. Maybe we'll catch up with you one of these times. Wea re going out to Sadie Creek in a couple of weeks. Some great trails out there too. Judy D.

Boondocking in Oregon, Nevada in Feb.

Well we just got back from a 2 week excursion down to Orting wildlife refuge to run dogs in a hunting compation. Paid for a nights stay at Florence Oregon to visit our niece who lives there. Then stayed the next night at a Wildlife viewing area in Susanville, California ( free ) It got down to 9 degrees. Water froze. Guess We might need to check into a tank heater. Was told that since the heat vents ran through the floor we wouldn't need one. NOT SO !! any way no damage, we where lucky this time. Next night we where on to Nevada stayed at Armagosa Valley, another freeby, be careful pulling out onto the sand though. it is a little soft in a few spots ! Never mind how I know. Any way well off the road so we could let the dogs run while we fixed dinner, Then rode on the dunes for about a hour before dark. Then on to the Orting Wildlife Refuge. Free camping for up to 8 days. Nice area great for bird watching. Local museum was fun, had a pueblo indian village that was great to see. Weather was in the 60's all week. On the way home we stoped at Sand Mtn. in Nevada. Camping was free on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We hit it lucky it was Tuesday. Also have a old pony express station . Down the road. Rode the quad down to check it out and rode on the dunes. Also far enough off the road to let the dogs run again. Looks like it is Very busy during the summer, but no one there when we pulled in. Got windy and rained a little bit during the night. It was kind of cool the dunes actually make a noise when it's windy . There called singing dunes. Next night made it into Oregon. Camped at Goose Lake. another freeby, but it snowed during the night so we woke up to a couple of inches of the white stuff and the sound of a snow plow. Decided we better get out of there.Spent the next night in a Oregon state camp ground up past Astoria. Payed $15. for that one. I do wish they would post on the highway when camp grounds are closed though. Gets to be real annoying to drive 10 miles in justs to find a place is closed for the winter !! But over all had a great time and Only spent $45 total for camping in 2 weeks. and never ate out once!! Did buy a few souviners for the grand kids though. Looking forward to going again soon. Boy this working thing sure gets in the way of fun. Judy D

First trip of the season

Just got back from our first trip of the year. It was great every thing worked good, no break downs etc. Drove from Port Angeles , Wa. on the 20th of Feb. to Overton National Wildlife Refuge just out side of Las Vegas , Nevada.Left with 5 dogs ( yes 5 of them) Running them in a Hunt test.and 2 quads . Stoped in Florance Oregon the first night. Weather was great hit 63. Second night stayed outside of Susanville, California . Not so hot , was 9 degrees when we got up. ( water froze ) Guess we will have to check into some tank heaters before we break something. Hit freezing fog just outside of Reno and about a foot of snow, Scarry but the husband did a great job of navigating us through it. Made it down to our destination on the 3rd night. was great weather in the 60's most of the time . Great area to work the dogs, fun group of people. Fed us well too !! We visited the Valley of Fire. Was wonderful to ride. I highly recomend the Logandale trail system was beautiful. Met some great people. also rode at Sand Mtn., and Armagosa Valley. Almost got stuck in the sand ( scarry ) Stoped at Sand Lake in Oregon on the way home , but didn't have time to ride. Sure looked good though. Hated to come home. Can't wait till we are retired and can do this more often !! Judy D

Places to stay around Grants Pass/Medford Oregon

Leaving for Orting / Henderson Nevada on the 20th from port Angeles Wa. Figure we should be able to make it as far as the Grants Pass or Medford areas by night fall. Looking for some where to Boondock for the night. Need to be away from highway as we have dogs, yet close enough that we can find it in the dark, since we are unfamilliar with the area and hauling a toy hauler. thanks for any help Judy D.

RE: New Onan 5500 won't start

Mine did the same thing. Onan and the dealer replaced the fuel pump it was bad from time one. Ran like a champ after that. And of course I did all the things your husband is doing now checked for kinks in the fuel line, checked oil level, checked to make sure there was enough fuel, ( was told if it didn't have enough fuel it couldn't pick it up so make sure you had at least a third of a tank, checked for old bad fuel, primed it etc. like I said it was a bad fuel pump straight from the factory mine came in a 2010 Keystone energy. Other than that I love the toy hauler not any other issues and like I said the dealer and onan stepped up to the plate right away and took care of it. Best of luck Judy D.

Camping / quad riding around Henderson, Nevada

Hi we are thinking about Running a couple of dogs in a UKC hunt test the end of February at Henderson Nevada. Does any one know of any places to camp and quad ride around the area? Would love to kind of take a few extra days and turn it into a short vacation as long as we're there. thanks Judy D.

RE: Have any of you used this?

Yep Y-Guy is right they are GREAT. Put off a fair amount of heat look like a real camp fire. And it's just not camping with out a fire. Can hook it up in just a few minutes and your not stumbeling around in the dark looking for fire wood. A deffinate must have!!! Judy D

RE: Where's the navigation bar?

Yep I also have noticed this annoying feature. Apears to be a add for Good Sam not helpful hints. Nothing against Good Sam just think they need to rethink this as it is very annoying. Not a good way to sell membership if you ask me. Hope they put it back the way it was. I now need to scroll back to the top every time I want to advance to the next page. Judy D

We're hooking up the direct tv in the toy hauler today. Then we have every comfort of the house, plus a few. Can't wait to try it out. We'll have the best of both worlds quad ride all day and watch monday night foot ball ( or HGTV) Judy D.

RE: Best brands/models of toy haulers

What a great time to shop for a toy hauler. All of the upcoming RV shows are just around the corner. We bought ours inthe spring. Got a Keystone Energy. Love it . Bought from a great company that stands behind there product. Only one isssue that was resolved very quickly. Use your PDI inspection list and take the time to listen to every thing run for at least 20 min. ac, generator etc. Good Luck let us know what you decide on. Judy D.

RE: We did it!

congradulations I know the feeling. We got a 2010 Keystone energy this year. I am VERY happy with ours, but like every one said take your time. I unfortanitly was in a big hurry was running late picked it up after work and had to get right back on the road. The one thing I didn't do was listen to every thing run for amy amount of time. Just had them show me how to start every thing etc. After I got it home couldn't keep the generator running. Turned out the fuel pump was bad from the start. Fortunatly I had a Great dealer to work with every thing turned out fine just ended up with a little extra tow experience carting it around to get the generator repaired. Runs great now. Already been on our first major outing to Montana and back. Judy D
