RE: Keurig coffee maker may be ultimate RV system

The fill your own cup is 14.95 but on ebay they are selling a cap that will fit over a regular k-cup as the filters are pretty sturdy and are reuseable a few times. We love ours and are thinking of getting another for the camper. oh gotta go, time for my afternoon Vanilla nut Caramel coffee(who woulda thought) any way seeya.

Chuck Box?

Does anyone use these? How do you like them? I am thinking of making one as I don't cook in the camper but I do store almost all my cooking utensils in the kitchen. So I was thinking of relocating all the cooking stuff into a "chuck-box". I'm talking the BabyQ the coleman 2 burner the propane tree and connecting hoses, pots pans coffee maker, spices, condiments, coffee, sugar, flour, flat ware and paper plates,a paper towel holder, and whatever else I can fit. All in a compact box that will unfold into a nice work space that will acomadate the weber BabyQ and the two burner stove at the same time. plus enough space to do most prep work involved with cooking. So does anyone have any Ideas I can build off of, anything will be helpfull. Thanks in advance

RE: X-Chock Tire Locking Chock

We use Roto-Choks. I look at the choks as more of a safety issue more than a rocking issue, as we have 3 kids under 8 it does pay off for the rocking thing. The roto choks are the first thing to go on before we un-hitch and the last thing to come off after we hitch up. Works for us good luck in what ever you decide

RE: Where to buy replacement axles

There was indeed a BIG PROBLEM!!!! I had my al-co axels replaced and four tires replaced all on AL-CO's DIME. I had an 04 keystone laredo that had the bad al-co axels which I was told were caused by bad weld angles on the wheel assembly. I also found out about the problem BEFORE my 3 year warrenty ran out. They (al-co) did not contact anyone as they said "Tire wear should not be an issue as most rv's go to a campground and sit there " so by the time your tires wear out your warrenty is up and good luck to you.
We had a local rv repair shop do our change over it was an easy fix for them only had it 24hrs. Good Luck

RE: Greasing wheel bearings

Those type of bearings are wonderfull, just keep putting in the grease until you see the new stuff come out then your done. I did this on my laredo 5er for five years and 30,000+ mi and not one problem with bearings. No need to hand pack those type of bearings. You could break them down every year or so for your own peace of mind, but I saw no such need. JMOH

RE: Transporting a TC EEEEOOOOWWWW!!!!!

Which one did you purchase a TC or a Pop-up? Either way look at it as an Adventure and enjoy the ride 500 for fuel seems cheap enough.

RE: No Direct TV????

I purchased a portable dish on E-bay for 25 bucks. It works great has a small tripod, compass and a bubble level built in,takes about five min to set up and get a signal.

RE: What is a "slickputt"

How about this one , when refering to Lobstering in new england my father in-law called a fish gathering (trap) pot a (cunna pot) as does my wife. I have yet to meet any lobster men that have ever heard the term. It could be like your (slickputt) just another pet name someone came up with for a particular need. Who Knows people are wierd. LOL

RE: wheel chocks

I second that, Roto-Choks are simply the best. They cost a little more but the way i see it they are a safety device. The first thing to go on before we unhook and the last thing to come off after we hook up.

RE: Fifth wheel with 2 FULL baths?

Teens and friends are old enough to go to the campground bathhouse by themselves. why fill up your grey water tanks to accommodate them? and in a year or two, your kids won't want to be going with you anyway and the trailer will be too large then.
bumpy
I agree send those kids to the bath house.

RE: redisplay/unhide all hidden forums?

New computer without the hide clicky?
Look on Craigslist.com they have used computers for a song. So get a portable with wi-fi, and then you can use it all over the house!
Just a thought.
There should be some instructions on the hide clicky sub-routine. Did you try the help section?
Good Luck!
Fred.

RE: Man Versus Mice

I second the old style wood traps "Victor" as those tom cat traps will just fed the mice. Last winter they were eating the peanut butter off the traps and leaving me a present to boot. That is until I got the ole Victors, don't know how many we had but I sure cut down there population. The trick is to keep them out in the first place. I sealed every opening and crack I could find on the new Roo, Hope it works cause it will be in the same place the other one was and they sure got into that. Maybe as some have said mothballs under the camper, I don't know but I am willing to try anything. Good Luck

RE: Downsizing? From What to What? What Did You Do?

We just traded our 2004 5th Wheel Laredo 32' for a 2009 Rockwood Roo 19' thats right 19' and we love it,not only can we get into those small waterfront sites we like,it tows like a dream, ofcourse we are using an F250 diesel (a little overkill but hey its paid for)and allows us to bypass fuel stops we used to frequent. But the Best reason is it gets the kids out and camping instead of gaming and dvds like in the bigger 5er. No room for such non camping items in the little Roo.
