RE: Need name of RV park outside of Yuma AZ

You can get GPS coordinates on Google Earth. Give us the coordinates and we may be of more help.

RE: I bught a used TT, are there gauges for the waste tanks ?

Determine the size of your tanks. Most trailrs have more capacity in the black and gray tanks than the fresh water. Example I have a 65 gallon fresh water. My Black tank is 40 gallon. Two gray tanks each 40 gallon. As long as I am careful and do not add water to the fresh water tank it is unlikely I will overfill any of the waste tanks. There are aftermarket sensors that stick to the side of your tank. They are a little spendy but work better than the orginal. See Level

RE: Re-use wheel grease seals?

Seals wear just like any other item that has to rub against steel. They are cheap and very difficult to remove without distorting them.

RE: Grand Canyon RV Park full hook-up?

I-40 does not go to the Grand Canyon; you take Hwy 64 up from Williams. It is a good asphalt road.Sorry for the confusion. I did mean Hwy 64. On my way back from Grand Canyon I am going to Flagstaff. Does anyone know anything about US 180 from Valle Airport to Flagstaff?

RE: Dumb tire changing question

Looked at hydraulic bottle jacks. Most are rather short. the distance between the floor and frame is about 19 inches (RV has a 2inch lift kit). Do you guys place some wood or something dense and sturdy to make up the height? I figured if I had a flat on one wheel, the other two on the same side will not let that whole corner down too much.I use bottle jacks. I made two boxes out of 2/6 wood just for this purpose. Do not use any kind of cinder block. After you jack be sure to use jack stands before you try to remove a tire. I let the bottle jack down until the jack stand has the weight then I raise the bottle jack until it has some of the weight. Never trust a hydraulic jack to stay up. I use the wood boxes on the rear stabilizers when I am camping.

RE: Best Route Denver to Salt Lake City

happened to us last year at WY I80 MM262, we are not going anywhere near the area again.
Seriously that blowover could have happened at many places. The DEN to SLC route via I70 is not bad though it does have a few high altitude steep climbs. I sure hope no one was hurt. I am curious. I do not see the TV in the picture. Did your TV come unhitched in the accident? All of the 5th wheels I have seen on their lid the TV is still attached. But never seen one as bad as yours.

RE: New Digital TV Antenna

Hobbytalk is 100% correct. In addition, there is no such thing as a "digital" antenna. It's just an antenna no matter what it receives and in no way will compare to a Batwing, period.... Sorry.X2. I have a wingman on my Batwing. It does help. We had some heavy winds here in Yuma so I lowered the Batwing. I found I am still getting a perfect picture with the Batwing lowered on top of the trailer.

RE: CrossRoads Cruiser

If you have or can get the VIN number contact Crossroads. They should be able to tell you if the trailer is in the lot that had problems. They can also tell you if the problems have been taken care of in the past under warranty. I suspect you may find they have. I have a Cruiser 26RK and very pleased with the unit.

RE: Why is it so hard to get the water temp right????

I took out the check valves into and out of the water heater and that has helped a lot. I then marked the hot water faucet so that DW sets that the same place and then only has to adjust the cold faucet. I found the best setting by trail and error. The biggest problem is while on the pump where the hot and cold comes a goes depending upon whether the pressure is increasing or decreasing. The check valve removal has also helped this part of the problem.
There will be some well buts, but if anyone has any questions send me a PM on details.I agree the check valve is the problem. It is used to eliminate a valve for the hot water heater bypass. Remove the check valve and install a standard valve for the bypass and you will have better luck with the shower.

RE: 30 amp or 50 amp

I am currently in a site that had only a 50 amp service. Thus had to use the adaptor. The down side is I am limited to 25 amps. When a 30 amp service is available I use the 30 amp. No benefit to use a 50 amp with adaptor when 30 amp is available.

RE: P3 boost settings

If you're strictly on the road, 2 is probably best. I find when in stop and go traffic, 1 is better for me as 2 can get real jerky when in stop and go traffic.X2 When I am in the campground or backing the trailer I disable the boost. I like the P3 as when I am getting ready to leave each morning I can check the amperage of the brakes. This will detect a defective or open brake magnet.

RE: Lake Powell?

Thanks, I appreiciate the replies. It addresses some of my concerns. I have no problem backing a boat, I'm good at it and I have a back up camera and someone to guide me with walkies. However, I would not like to do it on a busy ramp. I'm going in April, hopefully the lake will be less crowded since it isn't recreation boating season yet then.
Except Easter week-end. There will be a ton of boaters going for the first outing of the year. Then you are good until Memorial day. After that all bets are off. I have been at Bullfrog when there are 6 trailers wide on the ramp. But it is a wide ramp. But you have to back straight and stay in your lane.

RE: Lake Powell?

The boatramp at Bullfrog is HUGE - long and wide. I've seen plenty of MHs launching boats there so I don't think you will have any trouble.
X2 on Huge. With water levels where they are now it must be at least 1/8 mile from the top of the ramp to the water. Bullfrog can be very busy. IF you are not good at backing the trailer would not recommend doing it.

RE: Crossroads Cruiser

I have a Cruiser 26RK 5th wheel. I still have 6'6" in the bedroom
Just curious...we looked at a new 32CK Patriot and I (6') could not stand in the bedroom without hitting my head...I believe there is an additional step up in the front bedroom if I recall correctly!
Does your model have this rise in the bedroom? The 26RK does not have a bedroom slide. There is a large area at the foot of the bed that is 6'6". There is a step up on the sides of the bed that is 69". That area is only used to access the bed. Dressing etc is done at the foot of the bed. This was another reason I chose the 26RK over the ones that have a bedroom slide. When I looked at the CrossRoads site it appears they droped the 26RK. Dealer stock only. But the 31QB has a rear bedroom that should have a high bedroom ceiling. But it has an exterior hight of 12'12". Not sure why they did not just say 13'.

I flush the antifreeze with clear clean water before I do the bleach thing. Not sure how the antifreeze will react with bleach.

RE: Crossroads Cruiser

I have a Cruiser 26RK 5th wheel. Great trailer for the money. I chose this one because it will fit in my shop building that has a 12' high door. I still have 6'6" in the bedroom and the basement will hold 5 of my radio controlled airplanes. This trailer also had a factory installed 2 inch receiver hitch.

RE: Is it any more difficult to point a HD dish.....

I use this site to do a precise alignment of my dish. It will require you be ready to align at 1:00 pm or so.
Sun LocationYou need to set your location and know where the bird is that you want to align to. Use this link to find where your bird is.Bird Location Then experiment with the Sun Location software, change times untill you get the sun in the same position as your bird. At that time the shadow from the LMB's should be centered in the dish. Then at that time I move the dish to center the shadow. This will get you within 2 degrees of where you will get max signal. Here in Yuma the time is about 1:10pm MST. The bird location is 188.5 degrees.

RE: Doubt about runaway Prius story

Same with anyone who has seen a UFO. My understanding the Prius is a drive by wire. Have you ever had your computer fail to shut down. There have been times I have had to unplug mine to get it to shut down. It only does this in maybe 1 out of 100 times I use it. I am sure all of you have had your computer lock up and do nothing. Perhaps Toyota is using Microsoft software in their computers.:D

RE: trailer alignment?

take a look at your tongue weight, you might be too light
X2
X3
Big times 4 here
XX5 on tongue weight. Needs to be about 15% or more. But it also has to be somewhat level. With a bumper hitch it is best to be a little nose low. Nose high will cause problems.
