I'm counting the days, as this rally can't get here fast enough! Need a roaring campfire, a good, stiff drink (or 10 - LOL!), and a LOT of R&R. It's been a long, rough winter, here :(

I'm planning to be there, too, but with the insane work hours these past few months, don't have time to go get Thumbellina, get her cleaned up from winter, and get her there, so will just crash on Chris' sofa. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that HE gets home from this mission in time to get to Killens!
Can't WAIT to see everyone, again, and am WAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overdue for a campfire and a few drinks :) Shall I bring the TP and the plungers, since we never got around to doing the relay at Elk Neck, with all the rain last fall?

Ok looks like we will make Killens after all. The truck issue is a thing of the past. We just brought our new member of the family home.

I have to laugh because that saying comes from the signage out front of our local Budweiser beer distributors! They change it every month or so. Although sometimes they do put up some interesting quips that make me think!!! :)
Hmmmmm.... I got it out of a fortune cookie, years ago, and have had it taped on my computer, ever since - LOL!

EEEEEEEEK!!!!! Just saw the totals for the storm coming Tues/Wed. Looks like we're gonna get ANOTHER 5+ inches of snow, plus ice/sleet/freezing rain! Dunno WHERE they're gonna put all this snow..... STILL waiting for them to come plow the cul-de-sac :(

No driving ban here, but the streets are impassable, with about 3' of snow on them from the drifts. We live on a cul-de-sac, which is private property, so the county doesn't plow it. We're waiting on the bulldozer now. Yes, I said BULLDOZER - LOL! Not sure how much good that'll do, as last time I checked, the neighborhood streets hadn't been plowed yet, but the restaurant is open, and I NEED to get in there, some how, some way. Hoping to get out tonight, as the big rigs are due here by sunset. I just hope they can make it through the side streets to GET here :) If I don't get back to work soon, camping in any form is gonna be a distant memory :(

Our place looks like Deb's pics, and it's still coming down. I shovelled before bed, after midnight last night, and it was up to the front door again this morning. Had to literally push the snow out of the way with the door, to get out. UGH! I've shovelled the sidewalk, but haven't even started the driveway, as it's coming down so fast, that as soon as you shovel, it's covered again, so kinda pointless, for now. Gonna need a LOT of Ben-Gay, later, though - LOL!
Laying in bed last night, I kept hearing tree branches in the woods behind me snapping and falling from the weight of the snow. My pine trees are weighted WAY down, but the big maples seem to be pretty clear of snow, I guess from last night's winds. At least I don't have to worry about one falling on the roof!
Chris, your roof is peaked, so probably fine. The heat pump, on the other hand... I dunno. I've dug mine out twice so far, and am about to go do it again. The snow keeps drifting up and around it. I'm just happy the darned thing is WORKING, and we're toasty warm :)
Speaking of working, guess this weekend will be a wash-out. Since no work=no pay, it's kinda taken the fun out of the snow :( Frusrated? Yep... think I'll have a fire and drink tonight, and PRETEND I'm camping :) Wish you were all here :)

Ahhhhhh.... what I would give to be in the tropics right about now!....
Spent the better part of yesterday, getting ready for the storm. Groceries, dry firewood stocked in the house, liquor store.... check, check, check.
Got up this morning, to run the dog out. As I was outside, the heat pump kicked on, made an awful noise, and died! ARGHHHHHHHHH! Did NOT need that catastrophe on a day when there's a blizzard starting, with 35 mph winds expected later tonight!
So.... here I sit, waiting for the HVAC guys to arrive, hoping to get to work for a FEW hours before they close later tonight, so I can PAY for the repairs. The HVAC folks warned me not to go ANYWHERE until they arrive, as they said if I'm not home when they get here, they can guarantee they won't be back until AFTER the snow! I'm sure this little fiasco will cost me dearly :( And the hits just keep on coming....
Hope everyone is snuggled in somewhere safe, dry, happy and WARM!

Hi everyone. It has been a long time. I haven't been camping in a while because things have been pretty tight. My wife is about to loose her job so I am selling my Roo. If you know anyone that is looking please PM. It is a 2007 Roo 23SS. I figure I owe about what it is worth so just looking to sell for what I owe.

Eric - Sorry to hear that, but I can TOTALLY relate. Things here have been awful, financially, as well. 2009 was just a rough, rough year. Hopefully 2010 will be MUCH better.
Hang in there. I'll be thinking of y'all. Hopefully this economy will soon turn around, and we can ALL get back to camping, and relaxing again :)

Boy, when it's too cold for a campfire, you KNOW it's cold! LOL! I imagine that the high winds didn't help the cause, either. They're still howling here in VA. BRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Safe travels to all heading home today. The cold temps and winds are brutal, here, and I kept remembering how we all froze out butts off last year. I think this weekend might have been even WORSE!
