RE: Roof Collapse

Bob,
Be thankful they totaled it. It would have been problems for years to come with that much damage. Enjoy the memories, and look forward to new ones in the new coach.
Thanks for keeping us posted.

RE: Air intake systems on DP cummins

There was an interesting article a few year back in Motorhome Magazine where I guy did re-did the air intake on a 350 Cummins. It was interesting how much he said it increased his performance and mileage.

RE: Cable TV hookup with older TV

A little more information would help. How old is your TV/MH? Is the TV cable ready? if it is, no converter is required. With your analog TV you will not receive any of the HD programming offered in some of the parks, only the digital signals.
If you want to use your antenna with your analog TV, then a converter will be required to receive over the air signals which are now 95% high def.

RE: New Toad

James,
The tow bar is easy to install, it's the base plate that requires the work. I did a Google search for my Blue Ox base plate and found the best price online. Call around the hitch shops and body shops in your area to find the best price on who can install it.
As for a tow bar, check Craigslist first, I see quite a few of them on there for $200.00

RE: 2003 Monaco Dynasty fire

Hold On,
I hope this is not going to get into who is at fault to pay between your insurance company and Norcold, where you are stuck in the middle.
Several friends went through this after the hurricanes here it FL. and contacted private insurance adjusters to represent them. What a difference it made getting to a full and quick settlement. Just a thought, and worth a free phone call to talk to one who is an expert in this field.

RE: microwave noise

Our Sharp make the same noise when being powered with the inverter. It sounds like it is starving for power. Instead of using the invert for the microwave, we just run the generator if we want to use the microwave.

RE: What else besides Winegard SK1000

In all of my research, I could not find anything that compared to the Traveler for the price. I had mine installed last week, however I would NOT recommend that you let Camping World install it. They did terrible job and it all had to be redone.
Also to run both TV's off of the 722 receiver another coax will have to be run to the second TV to be able to watch separate channels at the same time. Also check for fit. My 722 would not fit in the cabinet, so I am ordering a 211k for the MH.
Enjoy

RE: New Digital TV Antenna

I have one disconnected, sitting it my attic, it didn't work worth a darn in my area. It wouldn't pickup a local station 10 miles away.

RE: 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited

You asked, so here is my opinion of the 02 Liberty that I owned.
Terrible gas mileage, 13-14 MPG in town.
Road noise was awful.
Rode like a square wheel lumber wagon.
NO leg room.
No back seat room for passengers.
Rear seats did not lay completely flat.
No cargo room.
Brakes lasted about 20,000 miles. The second brake change required new rotors.
Could NOT stop front tires from cupping. Had to rotate tires every 1,000 miles even after towing.
Inside was constantly dirty due to poor door seals. The back seat would be black after towing a few thousand miles.
Mine was a loaded Limited and was sure not worth the extra expense.
The ONLY thing good about it, was that it did tow nice, but if you wanted to take log side trips, forget it, to uncomfortable to spend a day sight seeing in.
I don't mean to hurt anybody's feelings that like their Liberty's, I hated mine and it is one of the worst vehicles that I have ever owned. The resale value proved that.

RE: Small footprint Home Theatre System Needed

Sony DAV-IS10. This thing is tiny with 1 inch square speakers that we bought for the bedroom in the stick house. It sounds awesome. It would be perfect for a MH. We bought ours at Circuit City before they closed. I hope they still make this model.
They do still make this model Sony Micro System

RE: Bank Repo Class A

One thing I did not see mentioned for the age of the MH. If they are the original batteries, they will also need replacing. along with the tires.
I am with the others about doing your due diligence, making your offer. leave your phone number and walking away. I cannot believe the dealer has been trying to sell it without replacing the radio...."first impression" comes to mind for me.

RE: cable to Sat.

The best part about Sat. over cable is the instant channel guide, instead of waiting for cable channel guide to scroll, and being able to take it with you when you travel. Even if it were $5.00 a month higher, those two feature would be worth it to me. I left cable 15 years ago and have never missed it.

RE: Changed to direct TV

I almost changed, but I kept Dish because I like two receivers for 4 TV's. Actually in our house the two receivers runs 5 TV's and then we have another receiver in the motorhome.
Same here and I cannot see any difference in the pictures of Direct vs Dish. I just installed the Traveler dish on the MH and will be adding a new 211k receiver to leave in the MH.

RE: Buying a tv

Every MH manufacture including Prevost install "off the shelf" TV's. There is no such thing as a TV made for RV's. Go to a big box store, I found my best deal at CompUSA, and get the TV that is going to fit your TV location the best.

RE: charging batteries

Check the fuse/circuit breaker on you inverter/charger. The inverter is not charging your batteries. Do you have the owners manual for your inverter? Check the troubleshooting sections.
