RE: Best Foods (Hellmans) Mayonnaise

Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I went home and looked at the container again - it says very plainly NO REFRIGERATION NEEDED. I will continue to refrigerate, as I don't want to chance it and I don't like warm mayo. Save me the label Chris.. I will validate! Sounds odd though, doesn't it? On the opposite, I was in Portland last weekend on business... they have this "German" rest. in the airport. The mustards say ref. after opening. They serve at room temp... I was a bit askerd

RE: Baked Spaghetti

is this just basically like a baked ziti? Pretty much Leo.... I don't care for bottled sauces... too much sugar and starch and additives... but I would make this with my homemade marinara...

RE: "Need Ideas For Some Spring Break Riding"

We've been trying to get over to your neck of the woods. We are central Utah experts.. been there many times. For Spring break, I would stick to Moab area. I think that you would like that area...

Roof treatment

Hi all- The roof on our 06 Raptor is getting a little "chalky". Other than just giving it a scrub with soapy water, does anyone out there have a tried and true rubber treatment that they use? Thanks!

RE: Stuffed Green Peppers

Way to go! That looks awesome, and really easy. I am very lucky to have a "butcher shop" near my home. You know- the old fashioned kind of place that only does "meat" and will carve, cut, trim, and wrap things exactly how you want them? They have the best meatloaf mix (and I think my homemade is pretty good) and I love to stuff peppers with it.. good stuff. For a quick meal, mix 1 pouch of the new "ready" rice, into some meatloaf mix, and stuff into peppers... good stuff!

RE: President's Day Weekend @ Spangler

Warning Dave. There is a National Hare and Hound that Sunday, staging on Pipeline road just across the tracks from Stephens. There will be a bunch of District 37 and national racers there. It will be crowded but interesting as well. All the major brands will have their trailers out there as will manufacturers like Kenda, Faast, etc. I'll be there with my club (Viewfinders) so if you want to stop by I can show you around. D37 has taken over promotion of the AMA National Hare and Hound series (now called National Hare and Hound Association, click here/) The race is put on by the Four Aces, I was a member of this club back in the 70's. It's called The Moose Run in honor of a club member nicknamed Moose that was killed in a race back in the 50's. What does the Burro Enduro mean then? DH has raced that a bunch.. TWMC.... we might be doing an ISDE qualifier next year.. BTW

RE: Tony Chacheres Creole Seasoning

Tonys is carried in my local supermarket. I love his creole seasoning, as well has his injectable marinades. I use it on my turkeys every thanksgiving, as well as beer can chickens. Yum!

RE: you DO NOT like someone, which veg would you make them eat

I love most all veggies (including brussels sprouts, peas and lima beans) but I am not a fan of beets. Can't get past them. Also not huge fan of Rapini (or broccolini as some folks call it). I have tried to make it a thousand different ways from Sunday, and it always turns out bitter.

RE: you DO NOT like someone, which veg would you make them eat

peas - ugh....hate the feeling of them "popping" in my mouth to make eggplant yummy - make a veg "stew" of onion, mushrooms, diced eggplant, italian stewed tomatoes, garlic (zucchini-optional), salt, pepper and italian seasoning (dash). I like to cook it down and then when thickened, serve it on toasted sourdough bread brown diced onion in dash of olive oil add rest of ingredients cook down toast some pieces of sourdough add a spoonful of "stew" top with cheese (depending on my mood - could be either sliced provolone or shredded mozzarella or shredded parmesan) put under broiler until cheese is melted Chris, this sounds delish! Gonna give it a try.

RE: Do ya like ONIONS?

Similar to this one... skin an onion, and slice in half place a teaspoon of brown sugar, and 1 beef bouillion cube in the center of a square of foil. Wrap onion cut side down (will look like a Hersheys kiss) and throw on the grill. So delish with a grilled steak!

RE: Char Broil Big Easy

have to disagree.. I made an 18lb pound turkey over this last week during our NYE camping trip. It was the BEST EVER. The skin was crispy, with the meat being moist and delicious.

RE: Dehydrator

I tried two different kinds and was dissappointed with them both. I returned them, and learned how to make jerky using my oven racks, with a tray on the bottom of the oven to catch the drips. One less appliance to hide in the cabinets too..
