RE: Sewer solution - worth it?

I own a SS but have not used it for a couple of years. When I was using it, I loved it because we always stay at full hookup sites. I would dump, back flush, finish dumping and then put a clean hose away. I did not have to use water except to back flush. Then one time we stayed at a site that did not have sewer. I used the stinky slinky at the dump and was amazed at the stuff that came out of the tank due to the force of the dumping due to the larger hose. I use the SS occasionally to back flush but hardly have to due the the force of the stinky slinky flush. Is it good? Yes. But I still prefer normal use of the stinky slinky.

RE: Dealer Applied Coating

I fell for this on a Honda car I bought new one time. I know they laughed all the way to the bank. In that case it was just a fancy car way and nothing special. Save your money.

RE: Chocking Tires

Thanks! The parking brake is on, and I also don't lift the tires off the ground, so I will not chock. You know how it is, you read something and think "Should I do that?". No chocking for me. Have a GREAT day everyone and thanks for the replies.

Chocking Tires

We have been full-time now for two and 1/2 years and I finally ask this question. I was reading on the TT forum about accidents at the park due to not chocking the tires. I have never chocked my MH tires. I pull in, put the levelers down, slide out, hook up everything else and enjoy myself. This seems unnecessary to me, but I learn something everyday, should I chock? Thanks!

RE: Highways Magazine

I am happy about it. I can read it on-line and won't have to pay my mail forwarding company to send it to me.

RE: Sleeping in Daylight

We have the limo grade film on our bedroom windows and I set the blinds up instead of down to also help keep the sun out. Works great for us.

RE: Long Hot Showers in an RV?

I agree with 2oldman. I have no problem taking a 3 to 5 minute shower. My wife on the other hand takes a bath in our little bath tub. She loves it. It is to small for me to bathe in but works great as a shower. I did add the oxygenics shower head with helps to conserve water.

RE: Where on your RV do you put your states visited map?

Happy wife is happy home. Therefore the back of the van sounds like the best place.

RE: rental trailer

Camping World is a big organization. They are a business.. They CANNOT take care of something like this immediately. Good business practices demand that they investigate and see what went wrong and how this happened. Then they can solve the problem for the customer. Would everyone always wish to get a 48 hour turn around? Of course, but that is not possible in my opinion. I would expect them to check all angles before committing to a solution. I suggest giving the management team (not the dealer) time to work it out. They will get back to you.

RE: Lessons we've learned over the years

It is May in Missouri and I suppose other places also. My point is, it should not snow, but it did. I knew they were forecasting it but did not think anything about it. It was a very wet snow. The next morning when I opened the door the awning was bowing down from the wet snow on it. I got it off without any damage. But believe me, the next time snow is even possible, the awning will go up.

RE: If you were a Snowbird, where would you stay?

We had a lot of Canadians in our park in Mission, Texas which is in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. We have been there two years and will go back next year. We have not been to Florida so I can't say anything good or bad about it or for Arizona for that matter. We like southern Texas and we can go to the dentist and get our prescriptions in Mexico.

RE: Road gremlins!! Out in force!!

1100 Sabre, At least you are on the move. We are at Swan Lake Wildlife Refuge in north central Missouri and they are forecasting a possible 2 inches of snow tonight. Have a safe and happy trip. No more gremlins.

RE: What does your RV forum name mean?

One of the most entertaining post I have read for awhile. First name is David and last name is Richardson which equals daverich. It would be nice if I were rich. LOL

RE: Driving with air conditioner

If it is hot enough to need air, we always run the generator and house air.

RE: Taking delivery in about 10 days....

I always put small 2x6 pieces under my levelers. It just spreads out the weight a little more. I don't want to crack the concrete, or put a dent in asphalt, or sink in soft ground. Other than the soft ground it is just a courtesy on my part. I don't know if I could crack concrete, but I do know I can sink into asphalt (don't ask :) ). When parked if power is available, I always have my plugged in. Like the above said, check your battery water levels. I check mine monthly.

RE: battery fill tubes

This is the one I got and I love it. Once a month it takes about 15 minutes. Pro-fill

RE: Used Motor Homes not taken care of!

I feel your pain. At one point we wanted to give up but finally found the one we are still driving and full timing in four years later. We got really upset. We would see the pictures and then when we got there we would see how dirty they were. We finally found that person that had taken care of his and we bought it. Don't give up. And don't give in to disappointments.

RE: Roof replacement for 1992 Winnebago

This is just my thoughts. You have a 1992 unit. How much money do you want to put into it? That is your call. Have you been up on the roof? I have never been on mine because I am to heavy. If you are able to get on it and find it to be stable and you really like the unit, it might be worth the investment to put something like liquid roof on it. Worse case is it won't work, but at least you tried and put a limited amount of dollars into it. Liquid roof is not cheap, but it in my opinion is one of the cheaper solutions. We had it put on our last summer and so far is working really well. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

RE: New from Louisiana

Welcome to the forum. The best advise I can give is to not get upset or discouraged when you do something stupid. Most on here have already did the same thing and most of those that have not, probably will someday. It's called experience and it helps us learn. You are going to love it. By the way, when I left the last campground someone stopped me and I stopped and put the TV antenna down. I have done worse. LOL

RE: New full timers and new to the forum, Hi!

Welcome to the forum. Don't be a stranger. We are full-timers and have been for two years. However we are retired and the only work we do is workamping.
