RE: GM products

It's a jeep that Chrysler refused to recall. The fires not that big and with a new interior it will be good as new. Ya know? I seen the Jeeps on the news that supposedly catch fire. When a 20 year old Grand Cherokee gets rear ended at 80+ mph and the rear axle gets pushed up to the front seats i would suspect something would catch fire!!!! I don't think the NTSB crash testing checked for that issue back in 1993?!!!!

RE: I want my 200lbs

I would suspect the 2wd and 4wd have different axles and suspensions. But that's just a guess. The rear should at least be the same! Welcome to the numbers game! Where everyone from the bean counters to the engineers, to the vice presidents wives have a say in what becomes the weight rating!!!

RE: GM products

That`s old news! it`s been close to a year now! So the ABC National news is now broadcasting old news? It would appear so! A friend has a Saab 9-7X (same platform). got the recall notice Aug. of last year. since Saab is no longer around there were no parts available to fix it. just recently GM got the parts to fix it.

RE: Sway caused accident on I-75

Are those just the safety chains for the tongue perhaps? Yes I believe they are. I`m leaning toward lack of driver experience. all the way around, towing, loading, tongue weight, etc. etc.

RE: A/C water down the outside

Mine does the same thing. if you look at the side you can see where the center of the gutter is lower. this lets the water collect and spill over. I just raise the front about an inch higher and this lets the water roll to the back.

The Doo-hicky`s have been replaced with the Thing-a-ma-jig! come on now you should know that!

RE: Winterization: wet or dry?

I think there is a forum rule that says no talking about winterizing until late September!!! ;)

RE: Sway caused accident on I-75

I can barely make it out but it looks to have had a Dual Cam on it. anything could`ve caused this accident. hard to tell with the truck and trailer in a ditch.

RE: modifications for better towing

Gas tuners only impact performance at WOT. Do you drive around with the gas pedal mashed to the floor all the time? If your answer is no, then a tuner/chip/programmer is a waste of $$$. The only performance it improves is of the stock price of the company that produces it. Same goes for the "cold air intake." I think you need to recheck your info. not all tuners work as you say!

RE: modifications for better towing

If you`re gonna tune a Ford go with a 5 Star Tuner. they have a very good reputation for custom tuning on Ford trucks. I have one on my V-10 Excursion and it is night and day compared with stock. the biggest thing I wanted it for was the improved shift strategy. I have 3 tunes (89 octane, they have tunes for different octanes). I have the 89 economy, towing and performance. let me tell you the tow tune really woke up my X. they aren`t cheap, but are well worth the $$$$.

RE: Wanted to tell everyone goodbye

NOPE! can`t do it! at least not until we have pics and/or the type/size of the boat! Have fun! We used to have a little 18foot open bow with a 4.3L I/O. it was a decent boat. would`ve liked something bigger, and that`s the way it goes!

RE: Rock my RV tv show.

Hey gang ... happened to catch this thread and see the mentions for RVtoday! Thanks so much for the kind words. I loved hosting and producing the show from 2000-2007, it was a kick. We tried to do a REAL RVing show, featuring REAL RVers around the country. https://www.youtube.com/user/olestew Here's an adventure to the Salton Sea where we met up with an extended RVing family who knows how to have fun in the desert. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0cOHNHrJ1M You'll find some new episodes on the YouTube channel, and maybe we can get something back on the tube! Thanks again for the nice comments, safe travels out there. Stew Good to hear from you! glad you`re still making some shows. it`s nice to have a show about what we love to do. Thank you Kevin

RE: Motor Trend First Drive of 2014 Sierra

so do we like motor trend now or are they still worthless trash? They are still worthless trash! always will be. what I find funny is the amount of people that go by that magazine to buy a so called "best truck" aka "Truck of the year". I see they still know what we want "the truck rides a bit stiff unloaded" UM yes! it`s a truck designed to tow/haul stuff, that`s what we want it to do! that`s like complaining about to much power when not towing. and I see they are not using SAE J2807 towing standard test, as not to many are! LOLSupposedly, NOTICE, I said supposedly, they ALL are going to use SAE J2807 starting with the 2015 models........If they do, the numbers they all tout today, will change DRASTICALLY. One reason I need to/want to get a Truck before long. The EPA mandated crippling of truck power is getting bad. They seem to think they are all being bought by a Soccer Mom who throws a bale of straw in back and use it to commute to the corner store as its main purpose. I want a new boat but it looks llike in order to get a truck that will pull or perform to my satisfaction I will have to go with a diesel. Putting in an order with a local Dealer for a used 07 Dodge or Ford or Possibly GM. And yet truck sales are up! maybe it`s because the cars quite a few of us want, rear drive, full frame cars, are gone! seems to me this is a way to get us to have what the govt. deems we need to have.

RE: Prius towing a travel trailer? Yes.

But since you mention it...They don't call them Exploders for nothing... Never did understand why some people call them Exploders? I had one and so did a buddy of mine. never once did it Explode. also never did see one spontaneously explode, still can`t figure that one out! And IndyCamp, not so fast. That full color map is so bogus. You can't RV to Hiwauyee! No you can`t RV there. you could put one on a boat and then RV once you get there. or you can rent a VW camper van while your there and see a few state parks! the latter is what we will do when we do get over there to visit!

RE: Zoomers RV

They always have decent looking stuff in their ad. I always thought about taking a look at what they had. I`m glad there are people here warning us about them. I do have to say I would never buy something sight unseen. only a deposit that would be refundable upon inspection if it didn`t meet the advertised description. Unfortunately this is how we learn.
