RE: FullTimers: how do you get your movies?

Although I dont use it camping as yet, you might look into Netflix. Its about 9 dollars a month with unlimited streaming of movies. For the naysayers you can stream wireless as I do it often with my home TV. If the campground has ample wi fi capabilities you can get a blue ray player or other HD player that has wi fi built within. Use it to connect to Netflix which is usually already within the menu of the device.
Since I have Direct TV i just take one of my boxes with us and use and outside tv. Plenty to watch.
Streaming movies in a campground can suck the life out of the system. I stream Netflix at home all the time and I would never consider doing it in a campground. It's not fair to others.

RE: FullTimers: how do you get your movies?

You can use any Redbox kiosk. Just make sure you browse and reserve the movie at the nearest kiosk.

RE: step question

I have a 2011 Vista. The electric step works with the chassis battery. After setting the step switch to retract the steps, disconnect your chassis battery along with your house battery. The battery disconnect switches are located next to the step switch.

Problems for Alaskan resident buying an RV in California?

I have a very serious buyer from Alaska interested in buying my motorhome located in California. Will he have any foreseeable problems crossing into Canada on his way home to Alaska if the moho is registered in my name and not his?

RE: Smooth ride in used class A under $25000.00

Your best bet would be getting a DP with airbags suspension, however, it is unrealistic to expect any motorhome to ride like if you were floating on a cloud. It's not going to happen. Good luck!

RE: Navistar RV is gone.......Hello new owners

I think what it really is about is buying out the competition, so they are no longer competing. Long term expect to see a single product line with different badging and slightly different features and paint - just like what we have seen with GM in the 80s and 90s.
The original Monaco was doing the very same thing with the Monacos, HRs, and Safaris. Monaco basically used the same unit and slightly changed the front and rear caps on each brand.

RE: Allies Specialty Vehicles Buys Monaco Corp Today

Maybe they just know they have already lost all of the current owners.
...and some former owners like me.

RE: New invention could benefit RVers.

It makes me wonder why designers went to such a flat, boxy front on class A's.
Miles
Easier and cheaper to build, and yields more usable interior space.
We may see more aerodynamic designs in the RV industry if the government starts requiring more fuel efficient RVs. I won't be surprised if truck makers in the near future start rolling out hybrid chassis that can be used for buses and RVs.

RE: Oil change in Boulder City area

I used Ford Country in nearby Henderson for an oil change on my Ford chassis moho when I was in Boulder City last November. Great service and reasonable price.

RE: Misleading avertising/ignorant sales people

I'm still looking at ideas. It's "generally accepted" that Saturns can be flat towed without any mods. Can anyone confirm that the blanket statement also applies to the bigger L model? The LW wagon with the 3-liter V6 would make a damn good family (me, DW and two Labs) vehicle and, if it can be flat towed as delivered, it would be ideal, provided I can convince DW that buying a used car whose manufacturer has gone out of business isn't a dumb idea.
Comments appreciated.
You may want to look into a Saturn Vue. I have been towing my 2005 V-6 AWD Saturn Vue with an automatic tranny for 8 years. BTW, the 6 cylinder engines in the Vues are Honda engines. The 2005 model also has a Honda tranny.

RE: RV shopping.....loss of deposit?!

...a prep probably costs them several hundred dollars in material and labor...
If you believe dealers spend hundreds of dollars prepping an RV, I have some oceanfront property in AZ for sale dirt cheap.

RE: Jayco, what does the dealer know that I don't know?

"So he said if I bought a trailer elsewhere and went to him for warranty he would charge me the difference that warranty didn't pay."
Nothing more than fear mongering sales tactics mixed in with some homegrown dishonesty.

It's good enough to charge your batteries and for watching TV and using a computer. You won't be able to use your microwave, coffee maker or a hair blow dryer.

RE: Extended warranty

Ask for a copy of the service agreement. Take it home and read it carefully, specially the exclusions. You will probably opt to keep the $2K in your pocket. Good luck!
