RE: HELP! Insurance claim may be denied

I just talked to my sis..I guess she contacted her agent in August to tell them she would be living in it, so this will definitely be an issue with the agency.

RE: HELP! Insurance claim may be denied

I can't help you with any insurance advice, but wanted to pass along my thoughts to your sister. What an awful intro to FTing. You didn't say, but I assume that they are OK, just property damage? I hope this all gets straightened out as quickly as possible, so she can continue with FTing and taking care of patients that need her. She will be in my thoughts. Kathy
klm, thank you for your well wishes. Everyone is fine, just found out last night that the truck is totaled. They have 2 Harley's that I brought back to Des Moines and they are being repaired. At this point, they just need to find out something about the camper. I'm assuming I will just have to let her take mine to AZ where she will work as a traveling nurse. My sis is from North Dakota, so just upstairs from you! :)

RE: HELP! Insurance claim may be denied

It appears to me , you are asking an insurnace company to cover something that YOU SHOULD have known was not covered. Kinda like sticking a gun in your mouth , pulling the trigger to SEE if it was loaded.
Amazing what people expect other people to believe today. Hard for me to comprehend that someone SOLD their house, now lives in an rv fulltime and did not know they needed diffent insurance coverage, yet expect someone to cover their butts, whent he stuff hits the fan.
I have had Natl Int insurance FULLTIMERS for over 5 years, had one claim for hail damage and was paid in a two week period. Do not blame an insurance company for doing what YOU paid them to cover and nothing else.
You did see that my topic said "HELP" right? I'm trying to get help for my sister and she is as honest as they come. She told the agent what her needs were and this is the policy they were sold. They have only been rv'ing for about 2 years. She's had enough bad stuff going on without people like you getting in line to kick her while she's down.

RE: HELP! Insurance claim may be denied

According to their website it's based on much time you spend in the RV:
"Full-Timers’ Coverage
If you use your RV as a primary residence for more than five months out of the year, you need our Full-Timers’ coverage. Protection for your special needs includes: "
And to kakampers, they answered YES to this question.

RE: HELP! Insurance claim may be denied

The company is National Interstate:
http://www.nationalinterstate.com/
Strangely enough, the claims person she spoke with make a HUGE deal about the amount of the claim and the effect it could have on the company. They have a 2009 Raptor Velocity 361lev.

HELP! Insurance claim may be denied

My sister is a traveling nurse and recently had a bad accident in Co. There was snow and the trailer (5th wheel toy hauler) jacked and flipped on it's side. They recently sold their home (August) so this is they only "home" they have. They had no idea that there was a difference with full-time or rec on insurance and answered all questions honestly. The insurance company is now saying their claim will be denied because they are full-time. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!
