RE: Help, I'm doing this Mod Now (Hunter Thermostat)

Just to let you guys know, I exchanged the thermostat that was giving me the ERR message with the same model from Walmart. I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but the faulty one had a 2008 date code. The new one has a 2009 date code and is working great. I guess the first one was just no good. Thanks again for your suggestions.

RE: Help, I'm doing this Mod Now (Hunter Thermostat)

Well, I went ahead and replaced the batteries with brand new Duracells. I'm still getting the ERR message. I've tried it in heating mode and in cooling mode and it does the same thing in both modes. Both the heat and AC seem to work correctly, but after about 1-2 minutes it shuts off and flashes ERR on the display. Pressing the reset button does reset it, but then it just does the same thing again. I checked the switch in the back and it is in STD mode. At this point I think I just have a bad thermostat. I'm taking it back to Wal-Mart to exchange it for another one. Thanks for your suggestions.

RE: Help, I'm doing this Mod Now (Hunter Thermostat)

Hello. I hope you guys can help me out. I installed a programmable Hunter thermostat (Model 44155C) in a Forest River fifth wheel with a Duo-Therm AC unit. When I turn on the AC it works correctly for about 2-3 minutes, but then it shuts off and flashes ERR on the thermostat display. As far as I can tell, the furnace functions normally. Here is how I have it wired: Green to RC and RH Orange to G for low fan (I will install hi/low fan switch later) Yellow to Y White to W Blue--Not used for now Red--Not used Thank you.

2008 Cardinal 38 BHQS LE

Hello everyone. I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I'm away from home on business for a few weeks. Before I left home I took my 14 month old 2008 Cardinal 38 BHQS LE in to the dealer because I was having problems letting the largest hydraulic slide in. It would go out just fine but wouldn't come in without pushing on it from the outside. It has already been adjusted once. The dealer tells me now that it is a weak house battery causing it. I keep my trailer plugged in to shore power at all times. I thought that I was checking the water in the battery often enough, but apparently not. I was wondering if you guys could tell me if a weak battery would prevent the slide from coming in even when plugged in to shore power. I was thinking that when it is plugged in it should have all the power that it needs regardless of what condition the battery is in. Am I wrong? Since I've already messed up a battery after only 14 months, I would very much like to upgrade my converter to a PD9200 series and install two new group 27 deep cycle batteries (I currently only have one). Can anyone tell me which one of the 9200 series converters will give me enough amps to operate my slides? I would like to get one that will fit in the stock location with minimal modifications if possible. Since I'm not at home, I don't even know what converter that I have that came with my trailer. What unit comes standard on 2008 Cardinal LE fifth wheels? Thanks in advance, James
