RE: Tundra or 1 Ton Dually? Tundra??!!

Y'all know I'm not a Tundra fan. But in all honesty. Why would it be hard to stop:? No TV has enough brakes to stop the trailer they tow. No, Not even the 3500s, or 350s. Truck brakes are only designed to stop the GVWR of the truck, Not the GCVWR. The only way we can stop them is with trailer brakes. If their trailer brakes are working correctly. There is no reason the truck, and trailer should have trouble stopping.
I don't agree with that fully. Only because in two instances I have accidently had to make extremely hard stops of my 10k fiver after my plug wormed it's way loose from my in-bed outlet (I left it plugged in once, pulled away and cracked it) before I replaced it I noticed the Prodigy showing 2 dots which means it is not hooked up to the trailer brakes and before I could pull over and reset it I had to avoid a crash by applying nothing but truck brakes hard. Both times it happened the truck did an exceptional job of stopping the trailer. I didn't like it, nor do I recommend it, but it happened and if my TV would have been a halfer I can assure you that it would not have stopped as well.
So for me, while the trailer brakes are key, if something goes wrong and a guy has to rely on the truck brakes, it is nice to know I can do it.
I just think the TV should be able to stop the trailer on it's own for the very reason I mentioned above.
If you truely made a panic stop your side of your truck and trailer would be side by side. I did do a panic stop with no trailer brakes with a ford 350 and a 25' GN loaded and guess what happen. The loaded trailer pushed the rear of the truck to a jack knife. So no Im calling BS here.

RE: Now here's Good Moderating

I am a moderator on a Tractor forum and when we close a thread we always post why and also send a PM to the OP. Here they just close a thread but I can see why it gets closed but it would be nice to see a Mod explain why.

RE: Dodges Marketing Director should be FIRED

The 2009 Ram I saw in Car and Driver had an "as tested payload" of less than 1,000 lbs in the truck shootout. But then most were pretty low, but that stood out for me. Again...this was the one they tested, so I do not know what others have to offer in the catagory.
This is what i found from car and driver and it says 1500# payload.

It looks to me as if they did the right thing. It got everyones attention. Look heres four pages of people talking about it and this is just one out of many forums on the net. I'll say they were very smart.

RE: How important is that sticker on the door?

The sticker on DW's Durango lists 15" rims with 235/75 R15 tires and their pressures/weight ratings. Her Durango SLT Plus has 16" 255/60 R16's. So far I don't think anyone's lost any sleep over it. Especially the lowly paid Mexicans that built it and placed the sticker on it. May have been a language barrier. I think down there they call Goodyears Huevos due to the ride. We just make sure we don't open the door when there's any cops around!:B
Same with my truck I have 20" wheels and that sticker has 17" wheels. Never had anyone from motor vehicles or insurance ever want to look at it.

RE: My new boat car that I pull COOOOOOL

All this talk about him running a red light. How do you know it didnt turn green before he came to a complete stop?
because if you look at the video, he first of all doesn't come to a complete stop, and it is red as he enters the intersection.
bumpy
If his light turn green before he stopped he don't have to come to a complete stop. Just because the light was red in the other direction don't mean that the other side don't go before his side. We have alot of lights here that work that way. I would say that little white car ran a red light.

RE: Challenger named most appealing midsized sports car

The Challenger just looks too big. Are it's proportions in line with the original? The Camaro and Mustang, IMHO are sized just right to be labled as Pony cars. The Challenger looks for the sake of saving production/engineering money, to simply be a different shell stuck on the same platform as the Charger. I will buy a Mustang in the future but have to admit that the Camaro looks real nice. That is until you sit behind the wheel, I have to give the Mustang credit for a much better interior look and feel
They have a girl at work that has the new Camaro and a friend down the road that has a Challenger. As i havent seen them side by side but they look to be the same size to me. I like all 3 and would not pass a chance to take any one of them. But then I'm not one to bash as many are on here.

RE: They are on their way

With the current trucks on the lot, guess you will see even more discounts going around on the current inventory.
I posted last week that I heard an ad on the radio for 20-22K off sticker for the CTD. 2500-3500's.
Up in Canada many Chrysler dealerships lots are almost empty of new cars for many of the models. There are 1 or 2 examples of a few models. There are virtually no new 2500 or 3500's anywhere on any dealer lots. The lots are eerily empty. In a 200 mile radius I can think of only 2 Dodge dealers each with a single new HD truck. Dodge is continuing to loose or HD to other manufacturers with product of their lots. Ford is making it hard for me to wait for the new Dodge HD with their latest offer on a new Superduty.
Come down here there is no shortage here on trucks or cars.

RE: Do you search for that elusive "Made in USA" label?

. What do you do when a US comapany is selling products they had made overseas? Made in China does not mean created, designed and owned by China. It simply means they assembled it or made the components while the actual design, marketing and distribution work was still done here. The Chinese or whomever do not make Nike sneakers. They make sneakers for Nike. Same with many of the toys. Fisher Price is not selling Chinese toys, they are selling their product they are having made in China.
And, therein lies the root of some of the issues..... wouldn't it be great if those same companies, Nike, Fisher Price etc., invested their efforts into companies in the USA, employing Americans, growing America, rather than getting this stuff made with slave labor, no real regulations (note how much lead poisoning was in the toys and pet foods awhile back), and making those countries wealthy when this country is becoming poorer and poorer.
They want us to pay top dollar for this stuff while they are employing other countries to build it for us. When we can no longer afford to pay the top dollar for a Nike product, I doubt the Chinese who make pennies a day will buy them at those prices. If they want us to buy it, they should employ us to have the wages to buy it.
Do you know why? Its because everyone of us that plays in the stock market wants to make money. That cant be done here with such high labor so they go to China. So the next time you are so happy about your 401 or your stocks are up you can say i sent all those jobs there.

I don't see a problem with it. Everyone said mine wouldn't work and it does just fine and i have the 4.7V8. My 5er don't weigh over 6200# it has no weight in front of the axles. Every thing but the bed and the bath is all in the rear.

RE: MARKS RV & TRUCK SALES... TERRIBLE!!!!

What i want to know is if this salesman said that to you why didn't you go straight to the manger and tell him? That is what i think any normal person would do. Then if the manger didn't do anything they would kiss my business goodby all together. Then i would be on here posting things about them But from what i read here is you didn't care about what the salesman said or he didn't say that at all.
