RE: Crossroads Cruiser

I have a 2008 Cf32BL, This is our second CrossRoads product. When we were shopping for the fifth wheel It came out on top. Like the warranty like the aluminum frame, rel plywood floor instead of osb the Insulation the one piece rolled edge roof. We have enjoyed it a lot I pull it with a 3/4 ton Dodge weighs in at 9650 loaded to go give a pin weight of 1800lbs. The patriot edition gives it some neat up grades that were not available when we purchased the unit. I suggest that you visit the CrossRoads forum, those boys tell it like it is We own a crossroads product & the experience has been great in all ways. Dealing with the factory service people has been very rewarding also as Randy and his people are wonderful and very helpful. I have only ever once in six years have someone talk negatively to me about that and I questioned him as to where he had gone to get his service & it came out it was his purchasing dealer.. One of our neighbors down here this winter has the the 2010 patriot and she is a beauty, & well thought out. Our unit is 6 years old and heavily used about 5 to 6 months a year and we have no desire to replace it as it is still like new and ready to go. You shouldn't be sorry if you make the choice!!! Imho jb

RE: 5th Wheel Specifications

I couldn't find anything but your going to need a LB truck to move it IMO. Good luck Sorry..."LB Truck"? I am sure he meant Long Bed as it has such a short straight down pinbox..............

RE: Sudden acceleration issue with new 2011 F350 Diesel!

and the 2 turbo's were actually subdued in sound Were you driving in formation with another new Ford? I don't think the new Powerstroke has 2 turbos. I read the same thing one turbo!!!

RE: 110 elect Recp Problem

If you know the progression of the wiring, I would go to the middle of the circuit and remove the recepticle, cap the wires. If you still trip, the problem is from the middle back to the breaker. Cut it in half again. Don't forget that a light fixture may also be on the circuit. Also, you may just swap two of the breakers out and see if the problem follows the breaker. Just thrown out as an aside question... Have you hung any new pictures or anything such as that or shelves in a cupboard etc you get the picture~~~ good luck jb

RE: Power King Tow Max Tires load Range E

Key word here is CHINA. Who's economy are you trying to stimulate? It has been widely discussed here that there are MANY PROBLEMS with ST tires that come from CHINA and used on heavy trailers. There generally are exceptions to any rule, count your lucky stars. Time and summer miles will tell the true story about one's tries. I had to replace all 4 after one 600 mile trip after 2.5 years of service. Hence the term CHINA BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keith The Powermax tires are made in some area of the country of China for the Greenball Tire Co in Elkhart Indiana. I was given the understanding that the tires are made to their specs & the process is inspected by their people. All I Know is with good VALVE STEMS ON MY RIG ALL FIVE WOULD STILL BE WITH ME BUT NOW ONLY FOUR ARE,sorry about the caps to tired to do over jb They are made for & distributed by an Indiana Co. Sounds like you got up on the wrong side of the bed through this whole post,Go back to bed!! as others are allowed an opinion too!

RE: Land crab in black tank

After fussing with the tank scrubber, snake and water hose I found the problem with my waste water tank. It drained very slowly and did not read below 2/3 after draining all that would come out. I purchased a flusher and low and behold a land crab with an 8" shell washed out of the black tank. I jokingly told my DW that it was after her. Later I told her that would (?) be impossible so she will once again use the toilet. You must be breaking the first rule of full hookup Rving, leaving your black tank valve open... the next thing you will be telling us about the history in your Tank (The great Pyramid)!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck if you don't learn quick.. IMHO

RE: Power King Tow Max Tires load Range E

OK. Now that I have heard all the negatives about the Tow Max tires is there anyone out there that can say they had a good experience with them? As I have posted many times in the past & again on this post I will buy another set of them if I can.I called the representative distributor recently to get a dealer near me & was told that Discount Tire is one and we have two within 5 miles so good to go!!I am at the 5 year crossroads with lots of miles on them approx 5000 plus per year with no problems except two pushed out valve stems.I wonder why they put 80lb stems on them to begin with as my monitors show up to 93 lbs in hot weather.I installed steel stems a couple of years back and no more troubles. IMHO jb

RE: Power King Tow Max Tires load Range E

If you choose to drink the kool-aide being handed out by the so-called tire experts around here, be my guest. Continue running Chinese ST tires and stimulating the economy of China. Continue having multiple tire problems and blowout damage on your rigs. Burry your head in the sand. I for one will just go down the road without problems on my LT tires. Yes, I have weighed my rig and they fall well within the weight limitations. I'll be sure to report back if I have any problems. I'm tired of these guys and all their ST tire and tire company rehtoric. According to them, it is never the tires fault but the RV owners. You know the line, overloaded, under inflated, drive too fast......... Enjoy the fight! RE: 04 Cruiser wearing inside rear tires?

We need some help with our 04 crossroads cruiser 28ck Picked this unit up two years ago this may. believe first owner had it on a seasonal site. We need tires for sure maybe axles and could use about 2 1/2" of lift to level trailer. Towing with a 06 F350 srw diesel, Pin box adjusted all the way up, Hitch i can go 1 hole lower, I have about 6" at bed rails. Would 2 1/2" off level cause both rear tires to wear badly on the inside or would this be a axle issue? We towed it maybe 2500 miles no curbs or hard hits to axles. A good truck shop will be able to straighten your axle and normally not to expensive either. I got two new axles & 4 tires under warranty good luck. Do not tow with that much height difference as you will load the rear axle much more than the front and maybe over it's load rating, possibly causing the wear you are speaking of too.! Jb

RE: Lifted truck and 5th wheel

I have only one thought on the subject, that being I understand the good look & benefits from a lifted truck for off roading & certainly do not disagree with your hobbies at all. The one thing I will enter is though that the trucks are very ameanable to these changes no problem or minimal problems. Please do not lose sight of the fact the other unit you are discussing in far more cases than not are no wheres near as over engineered or built to a quality level to be a just naturally safe bet for some of these actions. The way you mentioned about subframing it sounds like the proper type of approach to do this in a quality, safe & reliable way! In that vein I say go for it!Not just a band aid approach!!IMHO

RE: Towing Vehicle Advice

A neighbor down here has an 2010 king ranch 150 and tows a thirty foot TT weighing about your weight. He downsized from a diesel. He says it pulls it but works hard to do it and it eats a bunch of liquid fodder too.But rides better than his cadillac when empty..

RE: A shocking question for Full-Timers

We are in southern Ala & just went through the two coldest months in the last 25 years per the local weatherman. The nights many times we were in the mid to high 20s & a couple the high teens. We prefer electric to gas for the even temps and quiet. The month of december when the kwh was figured at 13 cents we used $154.00 of electric in January it was 9 cents and we used $104 worth. Both cases were just shy of 1200 kwh. I did buy some heaters in January that only used 3 amps on low so we ran two of those during the day to keep the main area comfy but ran them harder at night when needed. The folks in the larger units that ran propane used a jug about every 4 days, fortunately it was at an abnormally low rate this year at $10.00 cheaper than last year. It is a pay me now or pay me later dilema. I talked to a neighbor that in a couple of days he used over 200 kwhs but his rig has everything known to man plus his toter is plugged in all the time so it adds up..

RE: RV DIGEST-IT

I used to sell Digest it about 4 years ago. It is a very good product and does liquify most everything. A number of rv dealerships use it in the service depts to eat through plugs. If you use it do not use bleach or many of the home remedy cleaners.pine sol.dish soap etc as they kill the natural enzyme action that the product applies to walls & top of your tank. If you dump as leaving put your product in so as you travel it applies itself to the whole tank plus does work on your sensors too but that one is touchy as so much paper gets hung up on them.IMHO Jb (Ps Pure Power is a very similar product too!)

RE: Tengointernet

We are in a C/G in Gulf shores that has had tengonet for the last 45 days and it works fine and is free so better yet. We each have a computer and both work fine with an occasional rainy day slowdown when everyone is on at once.IMHO

RE: Power King Tow Max Tires load Range E

I have the 16 in Towmax and am approaching the 5 year status this spring. I am looking to get 4 more of the same as they are & have been a very good tire.I have the years plus many thousands of miles on them but do not have an overloaded unit either. I do suggest anyone buying any tires to be sure to get steel stems installed as they bit me twice before I did it. If you are monitoring tire pressure you will see what the 80 # stems are subjected to,,,, IMHO

RE: groomer cut my poodle

When we did a lot of grooming it would happen but not often. You felt worse then the pup or the owner. They heal fast without much problem fortunately. We had two of each of the clipper heads so we could alternate to keep from getting too hot & burning them..IMHO ( Black toenails were another thing)!

RE: F-350 6.0L -EB yes or no

If you have tow haul you are good to go but if you don't you are still good to go.I have an 01 without it and can see no reason to have one, unless you drive like a racecar driver braking at the last minute.I have a reasonably light unit and you certainly do as the cruiser is one of the best bang for the buck but light units out there. Our Paradise Point 33 ft was only 9000 # delivered and yours is lighter.. I don't tow the mountains but anywheres else and even panic stops my old Ford and the Prodigy have saved my bacon a couple of times.. Very well!!!!IMHO We all tend to listen to campfire talk & think we need that whatchamacallit also but truth be known if we do research and self analize we may not at all..That is the way I analize things and am very happy with my equipment & it's performance..I have found that sometimes just slowing down a little puts all the safety you need right inline with you!!

RE: Re-sealing rubber roof?

"ETERNABOND" Level of old caulk "carefully" with a single edge razor blade and wash with denatured alcohol. Then use the necessary width Eternabond you need & roll it down good (wallpaper roller) and forget it for 12 to 15 years as that is the life expectancy ,but still do your semi annual inspections of all other areas until you have done the Eternabond on all areas!!IMHO

RE: water pressure regulator

After buying an adjustable whole house pressure regulator what PSI should it be adjusted to? They come preset at 50 & we have found that to be plenty adequate IMHO
