RE: Over the sink counter?

Our jayco also came with the cutting board for the sink, i also added a drop leaf shelf on one side to make counter top longer; i also can use it as a dining top on the trips the kids bring friends.

RE: F150 with 5.4 and 3.73 or F250 with 5.4 and 4.10?

What kind of fuel mileage will I see with the V10 in a F250 unloaded highway and loaded highway? How much worse would the 5.4 with 4.10 be than with 3.73? Trips consit mainly of radius of 200 miles from home with a once a year trip to other destinations within a day or two of northwest Minnesota. Thanks. With my v10 i get 16mpg average on highway and 13 around town. Towing i get 8-9 and 6-7 in the mountains. Numbers can be better at times, it depends on the way i am driving.

RE: battery disconnect

The one going toward the converter could be undersized. Looks as though you have a pretty good sized rig. Check the wire size and check what size converter you have. if the wire is about a #6 I would install a forty amp. It could be heating up due to loads. I would suggest an auto resetting circuit breaker rather then a fuse. The battery disconnect would be best between the circuit breaker (if you go that way) and the battery. That way the circuit breaker could be serviced by shutting off disconnect. Remember to install the break away switch. You didn't mention it. Check to see where it is currently connected. I appreciate your help, thanks.

RE: battery disconnect

I cannot tell by your signature photo but I beleive you have possibly other issues. The tongue jack usually has a fuse cclose to the battery around a thirty amp. There could be another normally circuit breaker near the battery that goes to the converter. Do you only have one wire and if so what size wire is connected to the battery. Yes i have both, a 30amp near my electric jack post and the one on the positive wire going to TT , which is the one with the issue.

RE: battery disconnect

The damage fuse holder was located on the positive wire coming from the battery, i am replacing it with a similar inline 30amp fuse. I wanted to know about positive wire, because i was thinking on connecting the switch between the battery and the fuse. I know some others have installed the battery disconnect on the negative side. would like to know if it is safe to it on the positive side

battery disconnect

A couple of weeks ago one of my 12v batteries decided to die, do not know what caused the problem, in addition my inline fuse holder suffered some damage and the fuse never popped; this made a short in the fuse holder and even with the fuse off the TT had power from the batteries So, i got me a new battery, will replace the inline fuse holder and also will installed a battery disconnect. Q: What would happen if i wire the battery disconnect to the positive side of the battery? thanks for your help. Luis

RE: Outdoor cook top

Any one know how/where I can get a outdoor cook top stove with maybe a sink similar to the Outback units. Order it through your local Rv dealer, you will get the best fit. Unless you can build a portable one on its own table without being attached to the TT.

RE: WINTER IS ALMOST OVER!!!.....What are you doing when...

Looking at your posting more carefully I see you will be coming from South Carolina. If it's on your route check out Ft. Pulaski and Ft. Frederica. Both are National Parks full of history. Another good stop is Old Fort Jackson. It's not a National Park, but it should be. This could easily turn into a longer trip with all the history!! Thanks for the info. Luis

RE: Suburban towing question

2007 Suburban all trims 2007 Suburban 2500 all trims not much different, you'll have a lot more power with the 2500, make sure you get the right gears

RE: Popup vs. Small TT

We come from camping with a PUP, and honestly it was a lot of fun; we upgraded to a TT after a year of getting the PUP. We (I) got hooked with the camping deal and decided that we will be doing a lot of trips, longer trips and needed a better set up where we can just open the door and everything is there ready for us. We have two kids also and The TT gives us the space to grow with them. Everyone has their preferences, we like to camp all year around and with a TT is little more comfortable,JMO. hope you find what you are looking for!

RE: WINTER IS ALMOST OVER!!!.....What are you doing when...

We already went out once this year, now we can't wait for our formal maiden voyage to St Augustine FL:C, much anticipated trip, we canceled last years trip but not this one. St. Augustine is one of our favorite cities!! We love it! Our first trip for the season is coming up for Spring Break. In April we'll hit a favorite state park for an extended weekend. Our big 2-3 week trip will be in June. Can't wait to get the 5er out and start the season!! Please, if you have time tell me about places to go see an /or thing to do. We love places with lots of history on it, very exited - can't wait.

RE: So uhhhh, this is expensive... Stocking our first TT

We did buy a few new items at first, but I brought pillows, blankets, kitchen ware, etc out from the house. You may be suprised how many "duplicate" items you have in the house. We must have three toasters and 10 spatulas. X2, most of our things came from the house or very cheap purchases. Your TT can hold so much, and to much to pack when going home can take the fun away.

This fall it's Disney World for 45 days over Halloween/Thanksgiving and in 2011 it's the Fla. Keys and the Fla. Gulf Coast for like 45 days or so followed by Xmas at Disney World. Larry Last year we stayed a week at Chippokes plantation SP on the other side of James River, beautiful place , love the Historic walk at Williamsburg; in my profile you can see my fam pic on one of the ferries. Looking forward to go back this year around the 4th of July. Keep it safe!! Luis
