RE: Winterizing

Ok, I am going out on a limb here and probably will get all the urban legend folks telling me "NO that doesn't work either" but..... I put whole cloves throughout the trailer and not only do I have an amazing smelling trailer at the end of winter but NO MICE---EVER!!!! I have been doing this for years and so has all our friends and they also have never had mice. Might be a legend but it sure does work for us!!!!

RE: Favorite Camping Spots?

Well as you can see, I am Canadian!!!! YAHOOOOO!!!! We have camped all over Ontario but our favorite is a place called Sherkston Shores. It is like a city onto itself. Lots of people and both my husband and I love that and love to watch people but the most amazing thing about this campground is the beach. It is on Lake Erie and the beach goes a long ways and it is white sand and the water is blue/green and crystal clear!!! I pitch myself that there are beaches like that in Ontario, we go there every August and our trailer is there for 4 weeks. Another great thing is that we camp with our friends, about 30 of them and it makes it lots of fun!!! I love camping and can't wait to start the 2010 camping season, hopefully a month from now, I will be weekend camping. Happy Camping to All of You!!!

RE: New Hybrid Owners!

Way to go!!! You will absolutely love the conveniences of the hybrid, we sure did. I also can't wait to see pictures, it helps pass the long winter months. Enjoy and make lots and lots of memories with your kids, I sure wish that we had started camping with our kids when they were little. Happy Camping to you and your family and HAVE FUN AND EXPLORE!!!!

RE: Cabin fever

And the snow is still melting on top of our HTT. When it's all gone, I'll remove the cover, dewinterize the HTT and get it ready for our first camping trip............CAN'T WAIT !!!!! That makes it sound like you think snow is done in Maine? Bet we get 1 or 2 more good snows this season, but was 50 today so soon just not soon enough. I'm very optimist........SNOW IS OVER, and that's my final answer :B I concur!!! Snow is over in Muskoka Canada as well!!!!!!!

RE: Whats the difference between the Hunter 42999 and the 42999B

In London you will have a Princess Auto nearby, I picked up a Honeywell from Princess Auto for $14.99. Works like a charm. I was wondering what is the model of the honeywell thermastat that you got from Princess Auto, just might have to pick one up at that price. I hate the generic one that is in the trailer, very hard to turn in on and it hurts the thumb. Boo hoo!!!!

RE: Do I need scissor chocks for my tandem wheel trailer

BigK, I wouldn't ever go without the chocks again, makes such a huge difference specially when you have heavy walkers and you don't want to feel like you are on a ship in the middle of the ocean!!!!! They are worth every penny that you will spend on them!!!! Happy Camping!

What to do about this Canvass!!!???

My sister has a tent trailer that has the real canvass, it has gotten some little pin size holes and she tried to put another piece of canvass over it and sealed it with silicone but it acted like a conductor of water and when it rained the patch was soaked on the inside but nowhere else. What can they use to patch these pin size holes that won't conduct the water??? Any thoughts and ideas would be great?? Thank you and Happy Camping to All!!!!!

RE: Clean Shiny Top

Scrubbing Bubbles with bleach worked amazingly on our pebble top tent trailer when we had it, in fact when we were selling it, a friend helped me clean it with the scrubbing bubbles and I always thought my tent trailer was cream but..... after cleaning it, it was a lovely sparkling white color. I guess I should have cleaned it sooner!!!!!

RE: Honda Odyssey v. Toyota Sienna

We towed our tent trailer for 5 years with our oddessy and then we bought a 19foot hybrid and towed it for 3 years and it did great, I would still have it if our son didn't hit a 10 point buck at 110km/hour with it and then wrote it off. We went to the ridgeline and we love it but I do miss the van and the size of it for grocery shopping and picking up kids. I don't know anything about the Sienna, but we did love our oddessy~~!!! Happy Camping to All!!!!

RE: Snow and Hybrid, am I in trouble?

Just to help put your worries aside, I am from an area that we were had to shovel off our trailers because of that much snow, we would have to do it nearly every week. We have done it once in 4 years and our snow would be heavy lots of times. As the above poster said, the dealers don't clean them off---ever!! Hope that you all make out well in the big snowstorm and for once it is not snowing here in Muskoka Canada, we however are suppose to get it tonight. Take care!!!!

RE: We Had Our Hopes Up and They Were Dashed!!!

If you could keep the crappy weather up there until May, we down here would appreciate it. I don't think that I really have a choice in the matter---we will have this weather at least another 2 1/2 months!!!! I don't know how I will handle it when all I want to do is camp!!!!

RE: We Had Our Hopes Up and They Were Dashed!!!

Odielovesocamp I thought everyone who lived in the Muskoka area must love winter and winter sport's with all the snow you get!!!! :E Your not one is those right wingers that is enjoying the global warming are you???? If you are then I'm right there with you. I envy other people who can camp all year round without regard for severe winter weather. Got out 2 weeks ago for the weekend down here in SW Ontario, but it sure turned cold and snowy again didn't it. I use to love the winter and then I starting camping and I don't know about you but it is really hard camping in 4 feet of snow and tonight it is a balmy -26C and that doesn't include the lovely windchill factor. I would LOVE more global warming here in Muskoka. Also, where do you camp in Ontario this time of year??? and forgive me for asking but why??? LOL Happy Camping to all of you that get to go now but someone answered and said that they don't camp because of too hot of weather, can that really happen? What is to hot?? I just can't imagine!!!!
