RE: Would you or would't you?

If you truly enjoy that B - keep it!!! Seems we are hearing about a lot of wanna be buyers for pre '09 models....wonder why? I read something about the new engine....sure love that Vortex 6.0 in mine and would not be even consider selling. Safe travels.

RE: Replace Battery for '05 Chevy Express 3500 6.0 L V-8

Why not go back to Chevy Garage? I have been doing this for years and have yet to have any on the road problems. Safe travels.

RE: Good Sam experience with Class B

We have a B, although having never been towed; but have read lots of reports that support GS's position. We all know that sometimes no matter what we tell the tow company or another service provider, they will get it wrong. Five hours and then the wrong rig, to me sounds like they were looking to make a buck. Safe travels.

RE: Roadtrek Tires

I've an '05 190P with original issue tires by Bridgestone, but plan on switching to Michelin when the time comes. I have heard so many Trekkers saying positive things about the Michelin that I will take their advice. I cannot comment on Firestone, they have been around for a long time. Safe travels.

RE: Are Older B's Hot?

You betcha they are; the advantages of B's, no matter what year, are in demand. You can drive yours daily, park unnoticed in a parking lot, get on ferries, stop and have your lunch and run your genny in a Rest Area in the car parking area....none of the others can!!! We have an '05 and wouldn't dream of giving it up for a new one....yours is paid for and has all the ammenities of later models. See ya on the road fellow Trekker.

RE: Storm Damage to a B

I hope for the owner that the Insurance Adjuster realizes the mangitude of damage and says total it. This RT will never receive enough repair, nor would the owner's mind be repaired, that it will be a great vehicle ever again. We've had bigger limbs go thru our home roof and the damage to it was extensive and lengthy in repair....a vehicle with the fridge, heating, flooring, etc., etc., we wish the owner the best....and another RT on the horizion. Safe travels.

RE: Anyone own the Generac iX 800??

Likewise, it is awful small for camping. If you are price driven, please save your bucks until you can get the bigger ones....you will thank yourself for it. Safe travels.

RE: RTs at the RV Show this Past Weekend

From reading various Forums, the B is really growing in popularity. People are viewing it from the aspect that it can be driven daily, most are stelth looking (RT's 170/90/210), the gas mileage is great and they are fun to travel around in. This popularity could be bringing prices up? We have an '05 RT190P and truly enjoy using it. Safe travels.

RE: Cheap Generator Transfer Switch.

We live remote, loss of power from hours to a week is not uncommon; we HAD INSTALLED A TRANSFER SWITCH - we do not have the right to kill a lineman who is out there to help us!! Oh yeah, we had a friend who told me about how to make the feedback, etc,......no way. Our generator is 8K and the cost of the electrical work and generator doesn't come close to the cost of a human life. In our state it is against the law to do that backfeed, but we know it probably still goes on. Stay safe.

RE: RoadTrek 190 Winterizing Question

I have a '05 RT190P and can tell you that I agree with the salesman...I live in VA and winterize each year. I do not do any of the things they are saying. Winterizing the RT is not a big deal. They are a superb vehicle and we can't wait to hit the road.....whenever this winter goes away. Safe travels.

RE: Need a new cord

I'd cut the cord, take it to Lowes, as someone advise, get the replacement parts and affect the repair yourself....you will such plenty of money - and it isn't the difficult. Safe travels.

RE: Choice Protection Plan Extended Warranty

My advice to you is the same that was given to me....put that money in YOUR pocket...not in THEIR pocket. Of course they talk about the cost of one repair being greater than the cost of the warranty, that is the scare feature to get you to buy. I have had numerous TT and now a MH, have never bought that warranty gimmick.....and have never had a major breakdown of any of the appliances or A/C, genny, whatever. Furthermore, if you belong to Good Sam, their magazine Highways has stories every time about people who have gotten taken; they had a problem, the repair was affected, but "oh, it wasn't in the warranty, or something that meant you paid....twice in my opion. Your choice. Safe travels.

RE: Hensley Arrow

I had a HA during the time we owned a TT; but before it we had one of the more popular hitches. We had but one horrifying incident and I made the switch to the Hensley....and never looked back. I will say they are expensive, but our lives, tow vehicle and TT added up to a whole lot more!! I truly enjoyed the peace of mind going down the road, the TT never moved around, tracks perfectly and the wife was willing to drive - something she didn't do before. I won't call the following "cons", but you have to practice hooking and taking it down; I have heard about the frustrations, etc - if you practice with it and learn how to privot the stinger - your going to love it. In closing, if I were ever to tow a TT again, I would put the HA on again - I thought it to be the safest thing out there - my opinion, but I put my money where my mouth was and would do it again. Safe travels.

RE: Trying a B

The B is ideal for travel, sightseeing and camping. We moved from a TT to the B (RT) due to the versatility and it can be used as a everyday driver if so inclined. I can only imagine they would qualify as a second home, we didn't bother with it since going short form. You can pull in and park just like the cars, can't do that with a TT. We often spend the night at Walmarts, Crackerbarrel, and the like when we are just moving thru an area. Gas for us is about 17 with the Chevy Vortec 6.0 engine. I can't tell you about rentals, we have never heard of any in our area. Safe travels.

RE: Purchasing a Resale that was used as Rental

It's your call...you could have a great time without problems; then on the other hand!!! With all the A's & C's sitting on the lots, and the number of dealers.....you might be better served looking some more. Safe travels.

RE: FREE Life Time Snow Removal Offer!!

Thanks for taking that photo and putting it out there....everyone will enjoy. We are in the process of moving to FL from VA.....wonder what Al Gore is claiming now with all the snow!! Safe travels.

RE: Decals

Use Goo-Gone or WD-40. If you can heat it with a hairdryer and work loose a sharp end, you might be able to peel it right off, but patience is the key. When it comes off, try using a light rubbing compound to math it up. Safe travels.

RE: Lazydays in Fl,

The vast number of service areas is truly impressive, but I hear that people with appointments still wind up in the Lazy Days C/G waiting for service. We went there and it is awesome, but way too much, think I would check out their competition around FL....there is hundreds of dealers making good deals. As someone said, do the researh! Patience is the key. Safe travels.

RE: Husky air compressors

Rick, You talk of Husky, look at the Husky that has wheels, a pull-along handle, fills to about 125psi and cost $99.95. They had a suitcase model for the same amount and settings, but the wheeled model replaed it. You mention 12v models, I went away from them for their problems; now light off the generator and then compressor. Safe travels.
