RE: Sandpiper owners

we bought the 2010 Sandpiper 345QB, we have since taken a bath getting rid of it. Some of it was because we wanted more living area with 2 chairs so we did not get neck cramp watching TV.The unit was overweight for our 2003 F350 SRW and that really bothered the DW. I was disappointed with the overall quqlity though. The doors will not stay closed with the straps when traveling. The celing fan was missing 2 mounting screws (dealer said it was that was on previous 2 Sandpiper fivers),the door casings were shoddily put on and the staples were visible on all the work. I will say that it had the most comfortable upgrade mattress that we have ever slept on. It was as comfortable as our Stearn and Foster high dollar mattress at our house. We had buyers remorse rather quickly and had quite a few problems with the trailer. We are now in a Titanium and are quite happy. The lesson I learned was to not be taken in by the floor plan so much that I forget to slow down and look at the quality from the inside out. I did not get any feedback on my choice and alas, the good ole bath. Glad you are more on top of it than I was.

RE: bankrupt!!!!!

bought my Glendale Titanium Pearl Monday and the manufacturer, Glendale RV declared bankruptcy Tuesday. There goes their one year warranty. Thank goodness the components are still covered with three years. Just goes to show you that the tough times are still here. Not sweating it to much. Got it from a very reputable dealer who has been in business for 39 years. Its a great unit, 39' long and tows like dream. Real glad we purchased it.

RE: bankrupt!!!!!

Glendale RV is a Canadian company. Do not believe that they have the same bankruptcy laws that exist here in USA. I bought my Titanium last June and had a 3 year warranty. Still have 2+ years on my warranty but alas, that's now not worth the paper it was printed on. Have tried a few times to contact Glendale since they filed bankruptcy on January 19, 2020 to no avail. If anyone is interested in the bankruptcy proceedings then check out http://documentcentre.eycan.com/Pages/Main.aspx?SID=135
My local dealer said he would work with me as best he can, but time will tell ... Even he can't contact Glendale.
nice looking Titanium, as nice as mine. I will not get the one year warranty on their parts but my components will be covered for three years,,, I think it will work out just fine..... can't wait to get to the beach for spring break!!!!

loss

how many of you have made the wrong choice before on a camper purchase, were not happy with it and sol it at a loss to get what you are happy with? I want it to be fun, not in the wrong unit and regretting it every time we take a trip. we lost a good deal of money but over 10 years or so it is not much in the great scheme of things. come on, tell me I am not the only one out there.

decided on the new Titanium Pearl

thanks for all the comments and opinions... choose the new 2008 versus the used 2008, flying to Mayfield Kentucky Friday for a PDI and driving up to get it after Thanksgiving. The rep for Glendale is giving me travel expenses money and putting in the pillow top mattress and cloth recliners as well. Asked how much for that and he said no charge. Got a look at the used one and it had a good bit of rust and it was obvious that the outside was not taken proper care of. happy trails to you.. Mitch

we are looking at a new and used. Which one?

we are getting a 2008 Glendale Titanium Pearl Series 3338TS. We have found a new 2008 for $48,000 out the door and a 2008 that has been used for 10 months and then traded for a larger 2010 Forrest River travel trailer. It is $42,000 out the door. The warranty is gone and the component warranty is non transferable on the used. The fifth wheels are exactly the same (well, used one has a Air Borne hitch. Now we are going to put a more comfortable mattress in which ever one we get and are going to replace the European recliners and Ottomans with more comfortable recliners. What are the pros and cons. I am thinking of flying to Tampa, Florida to see the used one. New one is in Mayfield,Kentucky. Both are ten hours from us. thanks, Mitch

new Glendale Titanium

well, we found what we were looking for at a great price. Its a new 2008 PEARL SERIES Model 3338TS. It has the same chassis and unit build as the 2010 Titanium, only difference is upgrades on interior and we wanted something that did not have all the bells and whistles (less stuff to tear or mess up. We are finally within our weight range for our 2003 Ford F350 srw 7.3 PS. It weighs 10,775# with everything on and in it and will be under 12000# loaded. Wife feels much safer and I love the way it tows with 5' of it over the truck so even though it is 38'10" I only have 33'10" back behind me. Will get a total rig pic up soon. Here is a link

RE: New Truck will I regret not getting a dually

you have a nice truck and are towing a lot less than I am. I have a 2003 Ford F350 SRW with a 7.3 PS and I am pulling 11,500# and she does just fine... you are definitely OK and under your allowable weight. Enjoy

weights?

I am considering a 2010 Titanium 28E33SAi this unit has a dry weight of 10,705# and with the options I want I think it would weigh at least 11,250# and loaded with our stuff it should be at 11,750# to 12,000# at the most. We haul no water in tank and carry very little food and drink. Just lawn chairs couple of bikes tools and other camping gear. My truck is rated for combined truck and trailer weight of 20,000# and rated to tow a fifth wheel at 12,800# GVWR. Truck has a 9900# GVWR, front axle GAWR of 4,800 to 5,200#, rear axle GAWR of 6,830 and a payload of 3,255#. I weighed my truck the other day to remember where I am at and it weighed 4,520 on the steer axle and 3,200# on the drive axle for a total of 7,720# and that was with full tank of diesel and myself. Add my wife and a couple of my grand-kids and we would be at 8,150# or so... now I am looking at 20,150# combined weight. If I add the pin weight (20%) of trailer I get 2,400 plus the 8,150 for a GVW of 10,550 so I am over. But my drive axle would come in at 6,000#. So, first of all, did I put in too much info and second, how do these numbers look to you? thanks, Mitch

RE: Glendale Titainium 28E33SAi

this is a super nice unit and the weight is very reasonable considering the quality. Only 3 dealers on the east coast so it would be a 10 hour haul for any of the three. Glendale said that if any dealer would not work with them on any needed warranty work that they would reimburse me for it... they are now one of my two picks
I meant a local dealer here at home or on the road that does not sale this brand
