RE: motorhome rentals

I rented a Class C several years ago from Cruise America. I did a lot of research and in the end felt like a big national chain would likely maintain their equipment better than a local place and that I would be more likely to get help with service no matter where I went. Renting was definitely more expensive than I had anticipated before doing research but our trip was perfect and the whole family had a great time traveling in the RV. I would definitely rent from Cruise America again.

RE: Pickup based Class C

Cruise America sells a Four Winds Majestic model on a F350 chassis that appears to be built specifically for them to use as rentals. You can check them out here.

RE: 2002 greyhawk 31RB

I'm surprised that a "RB" model doesn't have a Rear Bath.

RE: Rental, damage, cleaning deposits for Class C?

As it is, he is not convinced that an RV is a good way to spend a lot of money.
You need to assure your husband that buying an RV is a GREAT way to spend a lot of money! :B

RE: Fiat may bring this to the USA...if we're very lucky!

As I understand it they reorganized a few years ago and the current CEO, who will also now head up Chrysler, turned the company around by concentrating on quality... Fiat supposedly now has one of the highest quality ratings of Euro cars and the company is doing very well.
It doesn't sound like that's the case:

RE: First Time Rental

I rented a 28' Class C from Cruise America. I had never driven anything larger than a minivan and had no problems. As someone already suggested, watch out for tail swing. I never encountered any push from passing trucks either and I was even driving on two lane country roads. I was all prepared for some "white knuckle" driving as I had read about but was pleasantly surprised that there was none. Have fun on your trip!

RE: Huge Selection Of Tire Choices, And Cheap Pricing

Tirerack also has a recommended installer program where you can enter your zipcode and they will give you the name and location of professional shops they work with. You can even choose to have your tires shipped directly to the installer rather than your home.

RE: Need Info..on motorhome.

Flyer Body Manufacturing is a division of Cruise America that removes the coach part of motorhomes, refurbishes them and puts them on new a new chassis for use in their rental fleet. They then rebody the high mileage chassis to sell them as commercial trucks.
