Molly is like Hobo in her food drive. I have to watch them when they eat, as Lily is the last to finish, and sometimes walks away before she finishes, especially in the morning. Dash is usually first to finish eating, but Molly will finish second and then watch Lily intently. She knows, however, that I am watching, and will look at me and wait until I give her the OK or until I leave the room before she will lick Lily's bowl. If Lily doesn't finish, however, I will put her food away for later. Even though Molly gets less than the others (plus the green beans), she hasn't lost any weight, which concerns me. She also eats dirt in the yard and throws up in the middle of the night. I just had her thyroid checked, and it is dead center normal.

Dash continues to improve, but I took him to the vet yesterday as a precaution against some unknown factor in play. There was a substitute vet there, and he was quite impressed with Dash's condition for his age, aside from his mobility issues. He basically confirmed my own belief that it was likely a minor vascular event (stroke), complicated by his arthritis and DM.

The weather has been beautiful this week, but there is a snowstorm approaching for the weekend. I just had the Georgetown de-winterized, I'm going with a friend Saturday night to a Rockies game, and my neighbor has relatives visiting this weekend. I told the neighbor that the combination of plans would guarantee a big storm; it was tempting fate or, as my mother used to tell me, "Man plans and God laughs".

What a beautiful day. This morning we woke up to blue skies and cool, not cold temperatures. The girls are enjoying the camping trip and the ride up was comfortable for all. The added space is wonderful and Mama approved of the truck as she claimed her portion of the large back seat. Peaches refused to ride with the rest of the pack and so she rode on the console between the two front seats.

The site we are on is one of the most beautiful on the whole lake. It is large allowing us to keep the girls outside without bothering anyone else. We have decided to stay through Monday giving us another day on the lake. I still can't help but think about Fella when we come here and his life making the best of a bad situation. What a treasure we found in an old black stray dog that brought so much joy to all of our hearts.

He was going to be trained to be a K9 dog but the people changed their mind so my daughter and her boyfriend took him. He is very well behaved except he wants to chase the cats.

We had a wonderful time, but we did have to come home. I caught Sue and Suzie sitting at the water's edge watching the sun go down and thought what a beautiful picture.
