fullmoon, how could I WHAT? close the Krispy Kreme? I assure you, it wasn't MY idea, I was totally against the closure.
I was against making another stupid casino out of the building, too, but nobody asked me.
We only had one family, kids and grandkids, for thanksgiving. One grandson apparently developed pink-eye yesterday, so they stayed home. We made up a care package and DD came to pick it up. All in all, we still managed to severely damage half of a 20 pound turkey! I think next year, we will get a 10 to 15 pounder, at most. Yes, the Hutterite natural turkeys are wonderful, but their smallest is 20 pounds!
I have been thinking about a goose for Christmas, but we have never cooked a goose. Anybody have experience? Is it much different from cooking a turkey or roasting hen?

Good Heavens! You used the fancy paper plates! You are living high on the hog NC. Things are calming down here. Everyone has gone home. I think they were afraid they would miss the sales No sales for me, going to wallow in the blessed quietness of this day. rayman, it looks as tho Art parks across the road from you at Lowes. He usually only goes to the fall race. Last year he went to bristol too, but not sure what his plans are for the coming year. I dont normally go with him. I like sitting in comfort and having the fridge close by. Man, we had a 2 yr old here and Kahlan is 18 months old. Talk about wearing me out, those two did. they are so cute tho and I got my share of hugs and kisses from them. They sure had a blast playing together and I had a blast watching and playing with them too. Too much work tho for old ladies like me!

Well, not EVERYONE! No way will I get close to Herbergers or Cabela's or Big R or any other store in town.
However, we might do a little internet shopping or phone shopping.

I'm with Jon, no way, no how do I go out on this "Black Friday" and get caught in all the traffic....but the DW did....she's tougher than I am...I'll wait till a few day's before Christmas when businesses are BEGGING for someone to buy their goods, then maybe, just maybe, I might venture out to see what can be had.........or not...
Beautiful sunny day here, though a bit windy and as of right now, the temp. is only 49 degrees...suppose to get up near 60, but this wind will probably keep it feeling cooler than that.

gotta "walk the dogs"....y'all have a great day, take care out there and I'll drop back in later......

Jim - you and your dogs must be pretty healthy! You sure walk a lot!
I have a silly question. I get what "DW" and "DH" means - but I don't know what it stands for. "Dear wife/husband?" "Doesn't work/help?" "Desperate wanderer/hobo?" You can understand my confusion
No Christmas shopping for me today, but I do think I'm going to go to the RV store. Spent yesterday home alone all day and need some human interaction - even if it is honking and swearing.
Leftover day!! Wooooohoooo!

If it's DW, it's dear wife, if it's DH, it's Dear Husband/Doesn't Help. We live in cul-de-sac, a little over 3/4's of an acre fenced in. The dogs usually have the run of it. When we're camping..they get an "urge" to just run...of course they can't...so when they start getting a little rambunctious,(sp), we take them for walks...the longer we're camping, the more often we need to walk them and it's a great way to work off the Thanksgiving goodies we ate.

I LOVE "left over" day....especially when it's "left overs" from Thanksgiving day........

Have fun looking around at the RV store...sounds like a good idea.

Be careful of those people who honk and swear Jazz. They can go a little teensy bit crazy on you. I stay out of the fray on big shopping days. Learned a long time ago the best time to shop is the time when kids are getting out of school. Someone has to be home to greet them. that means stores are a little less crowded. Also a good time to shop is dinner time.
we are getting packed up here to leave for Concord tomorrow morning. Art has a facility there to do an eval on. Kahlan and I are going to ride along so we can all have our meals together. Coming home wednesday morning if he ha no problems there. Going to stay at Tom Johnsons as that is the closest spot to his ATC facility. Dont particularly like it there, but whats a girl to do ?

Looks like everyone had a nice Turkey day! I was able to compensate for the gorging by skipping breakfast and had a very small lunch yesterday. Still not too hungry today.
Not sure why, but I woke up at 4:30AM yesterday, stayed in bed until 6. Decided to check out the mob at WalMart. Parking lot not too bad. Checkout lines were the biggest I have ever seen. Found a Wii but not worth $30 discount to stand in that 2 hour line.
All cleaned up around here, house is getting into shape for Christmas.
Have a great day everyone!

Actually didn't honk or swear once yesterday. I did go to a RV store near an outlet mall, but the local sheriffs were directing traffic and it went very smoothly. I just put on my "I'll get there when I get there" attitude and turn the tunes up. Didn't find a single thing I couldn't live without and left empty handed. A good thing for the budget.
Christmas shopping will be on line this year. One or two gifts to buy there. Going on a cruise with my youngest son and will be buying him excursions as a Christmas gift. Easy - and fun!
Is that Concord NH rosie? You're braver than I. Wouldn't take on the weather in my rig. I've quickly acclimated to warmer temps. The low 60's is cold today here in Florida! Did NH in September this year. What beautiful country!
Leftovers were great last night for dinner. I still have a few left, but am going to have to cook something to supplement. Anyone ever butterflied a whole chicken? I was talking with a friend last night and neither of us have done it, but want to. I found an instructional video on youtube and it looks pretty easy, but I'm smart enough to know that the guy doing it is skilled and I'm not.
Off to do the dreaded laundry. Enjoy yourselves everyone - wherever you are and whatever you're doing!
