92_Flagstaff wrote: Interestingly, I googled for images of stabilizers installed on pups and came up with dismal images. I know I can install them fine, and it looks like they will need to be at about 45° facing inwards from each corner in order to catch my secondary frame rails while have two solid mounts at the crank end at the corner of the frame.
The threaded rod doesn't extend much past the wall corners, but the round sand pads do. I'm just curious if anyone has any pics of their stabilizers, installed on a pup as reference material?
I crawled under a few pups at the RV show this weekend, and I see most of them have additional supports welded in. I'm curious if that's the norm. I'm not really worried about the overhang past the pup wall, but should I be?
The thin red lines in this image are to show what is about a 2-1/2" overhang of the floor past the frame. The red circle shows the sand pad extending past. Hope its clear.

Here's some pics of my old Starcraft. The sandpads did not stick out past the frame but not saying other do not.
Here's the pics.
Have a good one.

I have the BAL stabilizers and sand pads on my Fleetwood, well, two anyway. The front two got torn off last weekend going over water bars on a forest service road (not fun). Last time I trust a certain person that said "the road is good, you shouldn't have any trouble", but I digress.
The pads stick out about 4cm each side. I added a few washers to the bolt to prevent rattle during travel.

Table should look like this, freestanding.

Hey, I know that table. I could get you the measurments or more pics pretty easily as the Flagstaff is in the garage awaiting new canvas from Bear Creek.
I am impressed with the amount of work you have done in the time it has taken me to fix my roof.
Let me know if I can help.

The pads on our Rockwood stuck out very little when retracted, but were well underneath when opened up. This is the only photo I can finds that shows the stabilizers:

Just found this post today and wow, it is great with all the detail and pictures. A friend had an old Starcraft popup back in the early 80's that we used many times so they will always have a place in my camping history. I am curious what the final cost is or will be when complete. I have thought of doing this with an older trailer but most of the time the cost will exceed the final value. I don't think that is the case with this one. He bought it right, found deals on parts and did the work himself. And of course how do you put a value on spending quality time with your kids. Great job Flagstaff..

I still think you are way ahead of what it would cost to replace it and you know its right because you did it yourself. Thanks for the update and enjoy your new found quality family time maker.
