You might want to check out Flying J and some of the other major truck stops.

MY wife is an avid user of Books on Tape that she gets from our local library. She is wondering what will be available for her when we start semi full-timing.

I have found a few websites that offer audio book downloads. She thought the Cracker Barrel had a Book program.

How do you handle audio book situations?

If go to this Link - Sarasota Public Library it is for download audio books offered for free from the same Public Library she currently gets her Audiobooks from. She should be able to download these from any place she has a fast Internet connection, and the good thing is, the automatically "check themselves back in", so you never have an overdue fee!

Now all you need to do is get her an i-pod, although there are ways to listen to it from your computer, but an i-pod is so much more convenient.

ps: As you get closer to FT status, change your address with the Library to a close friends house, so if they send out any notices, it won't be returned to the Library. Not sure how often that Library requires one to renew their card, it may be able to be renewed via the phone or the Internet.

We used the swap program at Flying J's. Load up with a few books and drop them off when needed. Now we use an iPod. You can download books for a fee, or go to your library and get them on CD and use your computer to transfer them over. There are a few extra steps for transferring them from CD but you can find them on any iPod forum. It is easy and the price is right!
