When my Fantastic Vent fan died, I replaced it with the MaxxAir for the same reasons bumpyroad mentioned. I Like the Maxx product much better than the Fantastic.

I installed a TurboMaxx Fan. Quiet, moves a lot of air, easy install right over existing roof vent, works great, DW loves it.

Purchased two Shurflow fans about 2 years ago. I like to run them at near there lowest speed at night to circulate the warm air from our electric heaters. That worked very well. They both tick and squeak which drives me crazy (maybe crazy without the fans, different story). I have not used them much for that reason. Two weeks ago decided to call Shurflow to ask about them, did not expect much because they are old. They told me they had a batch of bad motors and sent me two new ones. They did not even ask for proof of purchase!

I replaced the motors and ran them a full speed. The one in the front of the RV gave up after about 10 hours and the fuse was toast. The second motor ran for about 20 hours and then the fuse popped. They were both very quiet while they were running (really quiet after they stopped).

I have not contacted Shurflow yet and don't know if I will. Has anyone had problems with their Shurflow fans? Should I give up on them and trash them? They were about $275 each.

Personally, I would call Shurflow. They may have some words of wisdom as to why the fuse blew.

Hmm my Shurflo makes that annoying clicking noise when running as well but it lessens after its been on for a while, haven't been able to locate what makes the sound, thought it was something catching in the fan blades, but can't see anything.

Called Shurflow, they want to see the bad motors. Sent them one of them 11/4/09. Time will tell what they have to say about their new motors being bad.

I agree- they sent a motor/fan assembly along with a new dome contact switch to help me troubleshoot erratic operation. This is on a 6 year old fan. Turned out to be the switch so I sent the unused motor assembly back. I feel they go above and beyond to support their products. Randy

I'll give feedback when I get news from Shurflow. Should take about one > two weeks for them to get the motor and check it out.
