Today's RV is trying to eliminate the "camping experience" and is going for the "take home with you" adventure.

Chad,

Yep that 72 terry is the one. Wow that brings back memories. Ours had blue table tops and counters. Only thing different I see in that one is the low counter on the right looking forward. Ours had a full height closet there. Dad had taken those two big closets in the back and made shelves in them. Each of the 5 kids had a shelf for their stuff. If your stuff did not fit on that shelf you could not bring it! (We do the same with our kids now).

That camper had a lot of beds. Those overhead cabinets in the front folded down to make a bunk for my two little sisters, the rear dinette pulled out to make a double, for my two brothers. The couch on the right made a double for mom and dad and the couch on the left made a single (my bed). Eventually the boys all ended up sleeping in the back of the truck.

My father had a system where he could get 6 bikes in that aisleway between the two front couches. Once he got them in there, two bungees and they never moved!

Mom and dad took alot of ribbing from their friends when they upgraded to a 23 footer. They always joked about the maid and the pool table downstairs. That trailer is small by todays standards.

My dad pulled that rig all over the east coast from Myrtle Beach to Niagra Falls and one summer out to St Louis. We had it set up on a summer rental site for 5-6 years on a creek near our home in WV. Mom and the kids practically lived there all summer. Those are some of my most treasured childhood memories.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

HappyCampin!
