I don't know if anyone else watched this game last night, but Cinci beat USF 37-17 on USF's home field. Cincinnati is ranked #8 Nationally. Anyway, Cinci's Ace QB Tony Pike gets knocked out of the game and I'm sure most folks watching this game felt that would cause the tide to turn in favor of USF. However, in comes sophomore Zach Collaros from Steubenville, Ohio. Zach played on a Steubenville "Big Red" state championship team and that Steubenville stud did a pretty good job filling in for Tony Pike. Steubenville has a fantastic football program, especially for such a little town. Tonight I plan of listening to Steubenville #2 play Poland #3 on: www.rollredroll.com. If you take the time to check out: rollredroll.com and you will be amazed with the facilities this division III high school has! Their weight room is probably better equipped than many small college football teams. Steubenville's current QB Dwight Macon will be playing for Central Michigan University next year! GO "BIG RED"! Bagman (born in Steubenville, Ohio)

Bags,
As a UC alum, you bet I watched! Coach Kelly is a magician. What fascinates me most is that UC's players are interchangeable. When the QB goes down, you expect the caliber of play to suffer. But Pike is injured at the end of the first half after scoring 17 points. Collaros comes in and scores 17 points in the second half. We started this season having lost 10 defensive starters to graduation. They had 10 more ready to step up. Last night, Mardi Gilliard was double teamed the entire game. Other receivers stepped up.
UC has always recruited heavily from northern Ohio. We finally have a coach that's taking advantage of their HS coaching.
Its kind of funny. When Huggins coached Basketball here, you had to buy season football tickets in order to buy season basketball tickets. Now, its the other way around.

Steubenville "BIG RED" won 24-13 for a record of 63 straight wins during the regular season! Next week they play a star studded Inkster, Michigan "Vikings" at Harding Stadium (Death Valley)! Bags....Now I'm watching PITT vs Rutgers (ESPN). PITT is winning 17-7 in the 2nd. period.

Jim Shoe, did the announcers seem a little biased to you? I thought they were terrible!

BJ Daniels looked really good, I look forward to watching him as he matures.

I thought the announcers were biased against UC. They seemed to be surprised how well they were doing and after Pike got injured they were all doom and gloom. I felt they were in the Florida camp. Oh and by the way....WHO DEY! How 'bout dem Bengals! The cardiac cats!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not, Zach Collaros was NOT highly recruited out of H.S. and I thought he looked pretty good, except for that one pass he threw that was intercepted. We'll see how well he does the next several weeks. Bagman.

Yeah, I thought the announcers were biased, but maybe they're just surprised. We're still getting second and third string announcers. Shoot, I remember when the only UC game that was televised was when we were the "designated loser" for some big name school's homecoming. And we took the game because we needed the money from our share of the gate.
As far as the Bengals go, I'm glad they're winning, but the jury's still out. WKRC is still buying thousands of tickets and giving them away. If its a sell out, they get to televise the game, and that's big bucks.
Dare we dream? The Bengals make the playoffs, UC wins the Big East again and wins their bowl game, Xavier makes the sweet sixteen, and the Reds make it past the All Star game before being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs?
Man, that would be better than a plate full of Skyline Chili cheese coneys!

Jim, the last time my wife and I traveled through Ohio in route to Steubenville, we tried the Skyline Chili and neither one of us liked it! I think the Chili at Wendy's, Tim Horton's, or any of the Coney Island restaurants up here in Detroit is better! I guess Skyline Chili is an acquired taste. Bagman.

Bags, Skyline is a lot better if you've been drinking for about 6 hours.
