We are starting our first really long haul from NJ to Fl to CA..with our Jayflight 31BHS Travel Trailer...my question is can you drive and use the refrig at the same time with the propane on....I have never done it before we have always gone from A-B in short enough hauls that the frig was not on..... but this will be very long stretches between campgrounds....and wonder if it is safe to do....

I don't like the idea but it must be reasonably safe because I have never heard/read of an RV burning up because of it.
I think one should shut off the propane at the tank when refueling, however.

We've done it for 5 seasons now (since we've had trailers with refrigerators). So far so good.

We went from Minnesota to NJ and back with ours own 24/7. No problem.

That spark is what you don't want. Go inside and shut the refer off, you don't need to shut the propane off. Then, when done filling, pull away from the pumps and turn the refer on.

I don't--but I believe it is safe to do so. I'm fortunate enough to have a solar system, a large inverter and a modified charging system, so I can and do run my fridge on 110 volt AC.
On my previous RV I used freezer packs. I found that in mid summer two packs would keep the Fridge cold for two to three hours. I had five--and would refreeze them when I was plugged into AC power, either from my generator, or shore power.

Charles that why they make the REFFER for to use on propane. Gone 80,00 miles with it on using propane. JMO. Happing RV.
