Yes your RV is cleaner than any hotel. Did any of your see the report on hotel beds and the bugs in them. Friend told me he never uses the bedspread because thats were the hour renters do their thing and leave. Rental cars suck , was at campground and they showed up with the rental car and it smelled looked under the seats and someone had lost their lunch under it and they never cleaned it up. I did get another car.

I don't use hotels/motels be cause of the beds. Comforters are nasty dirty. Also hotels/motels don't like it much when I build a camp fire in their gas grill.

Right. Getting exposed to some germs is a good thing. Back in 1948/49 I was exposed to polio and that was a good thing. I spent almost a year in the hospital. Now I have been on SSI for over seven years for post polio. I had to retire early because it was a good thing I was exposed to some germs to help build up my immune system.

Also I have handicap placard,a stair chair, and a lift chair. Maybe we should get shot with a bullet so we can get immune to lead poisoning.

Oooh - thanks for the reminder to wipe down the rental car we'll be using!!!!

I taped a bottle of hand sanitizer right to the formica countertop in the MH - to remind me to use it right after being out amongst the "sickies"....LOL!!

I'm not normally a germophobe - but I'd just as soon NOT get the flu (any form of it) while traveling.

LOL, ANY trip in the RV beats a flight anyday.

Gotta disagree. There's something to be said about hopping on a plane, letting someone else do the "driving", settling into a nice, comfy first class seat (hubby has racked up hundreds of thousands of miles) and in hours being somewhere that would take days to drive to. And I don't have to worry about low bridges or fitting into a gas station. Do I prefer the MH for certain reasons? Yup, sure do, but if you start getting paranoid about what MIGHT happen or what might be lurking somewhere you'd never leave the house, especially in light of the members here who have lost RVs to fires and accidents.

And yet another reason: on our trip down to FL on I-75, unfortunately, a motorcyclist hit the back end of a construction-zone dump truck and was killed, closing the e-way near Cincinnati. Since there were no exits between us and the crash - we were parked in one spot for 3 1/2 hours.

At least we could fix a snack/use the restroom/take a nap/walk the dogs as we waited for the traffic to begin moving again!!

As opposed to flying - and being stuck on the tarmac for hours without food or drink, as happens occasionally......

Not a fatal accident, and not stuck that long, but I was trapped for a while in the backlog behind a truck fire. Had to pull onto the shoulder and park to let the fire engines through. Sure was nice to have the air conditioning, refrigerator, and bathroom handy!

yeah, it would be cheaper and easier and faster to fly..... but as I was packing extra medications *just in case* one of us picks up a bug on our journey - it got me thinking:

The opposite happened to me just last week. Last day of the trip I caught a nasty cold, even though I was in the RV and not a plane. It sure was nice that I could delay the return trip, stay an extra day, and be comfortable in my own little "cocoon" in my own bed, and not have to stay in a hotel or travel while I felt so crappy (and expose others!)

Yep, sure love having the MH around!
