I know there are a bunch of us on here who run the beaches during the summer and a bunch of you all who drive in the winter so I thought I turn you on to something I just found. I was at my local big rig store and saw they had 'Salt-Away" for neutralizing salt on vehicles....seems like a great idea. I havent used it yet and it is a little expensive($49 for the quart size and sprayer package) but if it works it'll be a 'weight off my shoulders' so to speak.

....from what I can gather from a quick search, it appears that Huntington Laboratories first developed this "ice melt residue removal for floors" liquid, and some years later canceled their trademark in Oct, 1985; then, by around 1995 an individual seems to have registered the trademark: Salt-Away...
I can't find anything in US Patents on this specific product...
So, if the product works well, please report your findings!
Cheers,

I just used it the other day. Probably could have used just 4oz to do the whole truck/camper but since it was the first time I used 8oz.
Went on good, supposed to leave it on(not rinse) and it also helps prevent corrosion. Wont really be able to give any definitive answers on how it works but the big-rig store really recommended it(I'm in the North East so he should have some insight). He also said he has some guys that go out to the salt flats for racing and use it to clean up their cars.

....thanks for the prelim. report!
It'd be interesting to see how, if continually applied as per instructions, it works after several winters.

I see HERE that they have a refill for $17 for 32oz, so 8 applications(roughly) per bottle makes it only $2 and change per application.
Not bad if it works!(oh and this place is cheaper than I paid locally)

We do the same thing. Our entire rig is stored in heated facilities over winter. Where I worry about rust is when camping along and meters away from the East Coast seashore while traveling over summer!
