Hello. Am purchasing an Outback 310RS and was wondering if anyone has any instuctions for loading a motorcycle for transport.

I think I would avoid a side loader.
* You would always need extra room to unload the bikes.
* If the ground is sloped, the ramp would not sit flat and would need to be propped.
* Loading in front of the house may be a problem with the sidewalk.

if you haven't already bought the trailer, i'd hold off til you can research your question further.
What size bike are we talking about?

I have the side loader and no problems yet with any of the issues mentioned by the previous poster. The issues mentioned require loading precautions, just like any other unit.
I like the side loader as it is a seperate garage that can be used for many things including extra people when your bike is unloaded. In a rear loader, unless you get a very large unit, you end up 'living' in your garage during your stay.
Here is how I load my bike. It is a Vulcan 900LT which is very low to the ground. I need to lower the front of the trailer almost to the ground to get a shallower angle for the hump at the top of the ramp. (glad I have an electic thingy to raise and lower the trailer) You must block the ground end of the ramp to support the angle of the ramp, as you do not want to bend the ramp door. The previous owner also added a hinged ramp extension of about 18" to add to the ability to keep a shallow angle for the hump. If you have a bike which is higher off the ground you may not have any issues.
The other thing to realize is that you have to crank the handlebars to the right (and leave them that way) once you get in. You then strap the bike down from the 4 corners of the garage. Takes about 15 minutes from start to finish if you are in a hurry.
To each their own though. I would not like to talk anyone into or out of what features are important to them. For me, this is the 'cats meow'!

I had one. It is a pain in the butt if the MC is longer than the trailer is wide.

While I can understand that a rear entry door would be much easier to load, don't want to live in a garage. My husband will have to make do with a side entry. We can't tow anything larger than a 230RS and like the amenities this one has. His goldwing will be too long, I fear, but he isn't married to it and is willing to replace it with another bike.

Thought I would hear from you guys! It's true, though. Camping's a family activity. Being able to bring a toy is an added bonus, don't you think? Too make everyone else live in a space that is not much more than a utility trailer with a bathroom, jack-knife sofas and a "loft bed" doesn't seem to make much sense when you are limited to =/< a 28'. But then again, are we really camping in these things?
