Our fleetwood has the typical pu awning. When driving in a windy place the whole awning and bag flips up and down. It can get going very hard. We had installed some velcro strips under the bag and against the side of the top of trailer. Over the last 2 yrs the velcro adhesive has gotten all runny and messy. I am going to clean it all off and think of another way. Any suggestions?

I have the same 12' awning and the only time I have had that problem is in extreme wind gust conditions. Most of the time, it is not an issue. I'm thinking that to avoid the condition, the bottom of the bag should be flat as possible to the side of the roof, and the bag should have the usual amount of weight in it. I store my cross-poles on top of the rolled up awning before I zip the bag closed. I don't know why you have a problem and I don't

I used to flip the bag over on top of the roof for driving to take the stress off the sewn seams, and it would stay there unless I hit an exceptionally nasty bump. When storing, I would drop the it back down against the wall to permit water drainage through the zipper.
However, now that I have the Yakima roof rack it can't sit on the roof any more.

We had our PUP for 17 years, and over time, the velcro holding the awning bag gave out. We never bothered to replace it, as the flipping up on top of the camper during windy transit never seemed to do any damage. No big deal to just flip it back down when we got into a campsite.
