I've tried googling and trying to find this info online but I come up short. Can any of you mahvelous folks tell me how much a replacement converter-smartcharger thingy for my Roo23SS would run? without labor and with labor for install? Something went wrong on my trip last weekend. The converter works, the battery charger does not. I called the dealer since it's got a 2 yr warranty on the charger-converter (WFCO whatever ) and he said I would have to have them take it out and ship it to WFCO or whomever and then they'd check it and send back the replacement (or be lazy and fix it??) and it would take SIX WEEKS to turnaround. OR... I could bring it in to dealer, give them a credit card, they would call the WFCO or (who?) and order replacement on contingency , then send mine in and if it is warranty they don't charge me. But I am so suspicious , you know?
I am going to take it to him Fri to "test it" but... and if it isn't WFCO's fault, then how much labor should I reasonably expect to get nailed for also.

I'm sorry to whine and ask something I could probably find in time, but I am upset and would like to know what I might be dealing with before I get to the dealer. They tend to look at widowed young blondes as if we've got SUCKER tattooed on forehead. Well not all, sorry , I'm just perturbed. Been one of those past several days where you just can't catch a break.

Thanks folks!

Varies on different models. One of the better ones is a Progressive Dynamics 9200 series. This model has a built in Charge Wizard.
The smallest a 45 amp is $250
Next size a 60 amp runs about $300.
If you could post your model number from your existing unit, it would be helpful. some of the WFCO products have a smart charger built in.
A direct call to WFCO may help. I am surprised that the dealer doesn't just change it out at no cost.

I'm at work at the hospital, and can't get the model number right now. But I do know it must be the same that is in there now and it's the nice WFCO. The dealer says that's the way it is handled on the warranty- you take it out and send to the WFCO , then they send the exchange (6 wks turnaround) If you want to get it faster, give them a CC number in case they determine it's not a warranty issue and they will send a new one right out. If it turns out to be a warranty issue when they get the "old" one, then no charge

It is up to WFCO to say if it's warranty issue or not in the end.

I love technical terms! Think I'll use "charger thingy" from now on.

And on that note, I'll recommend a Progressive Dynamics "charger thingy" as a replacement for your WFCO "charger thingy".

Had nothing but trouble with WFCO in the past. Got so fed up with having them replaced uder warranty again and again, I said "screw the warranty" and bought a PD "charger thingy" out of my own pocket. Never had a problem since.

I don't know about WFCO. I have a PD charger thingy. When it failed out of warranty I called and they shipped a replacement thingy (not a new one - a refurbished one) with the understanding that I had ten days to return the old one for credit, otherwise they would charge my credit card for the replacement. I was given the option of paying extra for expedited shipping. I did, they did, everything worked out just fine.

All of this personal business being done at work is on your breaks, right?

ha, listen we even call your most special body parts "thingies" in my line of work; glad you grinned anyway.

I'm home now and the model is WF-8955PEC and I found all the answers I needed and am calmer now.

Will fill you in on what ends up happening Friday.

Thanks again, HTT friends!

Different models and different sizes are different prices but if it's any help, I replaced mine a few months ago (it was a WFCO that is probably very similar to the one in your Roo) and the cost was right around $300.00 installed. Installation took about a half hour. Good luck / Skip
