With Christmas right around the corner it is time to start developing lists of gifts as ideas for our Kids. You know, our Kids, who have lived with us all of their lives, but don't have a clue what to get Dad and Mom for Christmas. So here is my 1st cut at a list:
a. A Barker 3500 electric jack for the TT. b. $500.00 cash for my private checking account (the one I don't show to wife). c. 5 new tires for my tow vehicle. d. A box of K-Cups for my coffee maker. e. A new telephoto lens for the Nikon camera.

Will be interesting to see what gets selected from my list.

A few years ago, my Bride told the (grown) kids that we needed nothing. Repeat, NOTHING! We were just begining the full time prep and we realized that we had accumulated way too much stuff already and we really needed no more. She finally told them if it could be eaten or used & tossed it would be OK. That Christmas our no. 1 DIL came bearing gifts. Imagine our delight when we unwrapped a cured ham and a 48-roll pack of TP! I think family heirlooms would make great gifts to the kids, but they are into this edible gift stuff, too. They modified the guidelines to "only if it can be eaten or spent"

My wife loves Christmas. And, I pretend I do too. Apparently, I do a good job of it,......about every other year....

All of my family is 3000 miles away on the other side of the USA...

so I don't do any holiday stuff, except a Christmas card to those who do not have e-mail...

and either way, card or email ... that's all they get.. a short note saying ... "Merry Christmas".... signed ... Dad, Granddad, Uncle, Your Friend...ect.....

Here locally I have only three friends and each one gets whatever was given to me last year from the other two friends...

There is one bottle of "Stetson" after shave that has made the circuit three years running.. and so far nobody has caught on yet..

I only use Old Spice but my friends are too cheap to buy the good stuff.

However, I do make the rounds of the casinos for their FREE Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners that they give every year...

hummmnnnn .... with the economy like it is and so many businesses failing.. I wonder if the casinos are going to give away free meals this year...

Maybe I'd better have a backup plan...

think I'll buy a couple of cans of Vienna Turkey Sausage and a bag of potato chips to keep in the kitchen cabinet just in case..

I guess Turkey and Potatoes are still Turkey and Potatoes... whether it's in a can and bag on on a plate and covered with gravy..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

Every year for the past ten, my mother has told me she wanted NOTHING for Christmas cuz she already has too much "stuff"....

Last year I bought her a 40.00 membership to CalStar.....And one for REACH.....They are "Air Ambulance" services and if she ever needs to be "air lifted" to a hospital, she doesn't pay a PENNY out of pocket!

The memberships are good for 1 year.....She was happy for the "insurance" and I was happy with the cost!

She's getting a renewal this year!
