Maybe it's just me, because nobody else mentions the ease of refueling a diesel where the 18 wheelers go. Plenty of room and no clearance worries. Easy in/out.
It gives me the willies to think of pulling a big 5th wheel into a gasoline island, worrying about clearance, and then having to back out into a busy street after fueling!

I've never had a problem getting in or out of a gas station with our 5th wheel. Never had to back out into a street and never had a clearance problem. How does one suppose the 18 wheeler that delivers gas and diesel fuel to "gas stations" gets in and out if a 5th wheel RV towed by a pickup truck can't even get in and out. There's plenty of room in all but the tiniest of gas stations and even then, they're usually pull through.

I will keep my xcursion for now, we got it with 75000k in the odometer and we added 6000k in one year. Our X is only for towing our TT the rest of the time sits in its carport, gets driven once or twice a week 40 miles +/-. At this rate i can keep it for ten more years and the truck will only have 141000 miles. Maybe then i start looking for a diesel, the last truck i will ever own.
Seems to me it is a matter of personal choice, i think everyone agree that a diesel will give more power and better mileage; also we agree they are more expensive to get and maintain. Longevity of the engine can be tricky, it all depends how well we keep our vehicles.
