Looking for people to travel to Alaska starting around mid May 2010.
Really do not want to do it with just my wife and I.

Where are you located, and where will you begin the trip in May?

Have been contemplating same as you, but want 'company' on a trip like that, safety and breakdown, etc. Been chatting with a few military-retired friends about this same thing in 2010 ... so it's up in the air, but at least in talking stages ...

We're wanting to travel together, then separate some times for individual areas and events, maybe, then travel again ... so we have 'group ability' in case of troubles on the road - we're thinking vehicle troubles here, or course, not 'danger' necessarily ...

It could be a fun way to make new friends and enjoy the trip together. We did it alone but you are not really alone. There were plenty of RVers along the way and at campgrounds and you know Rvers are always willing to lend a hand to someone who needs a little help. That said I do think meeting new folks for a trip through this wonderful wilderness is a fun idea. Enjoy,

Up front, this sounds like a good idea, but if you go this route, make sure you set up some guide lines in advance. In a trip this great, there are many variables. Places to overnite, things to do, etc. Not everyone will have the same interest. One is surely likely to want to linger here. Stop to take a hike, take some pictures. You get the idea...

Like Goldencrazy said, You will not be alone. On our trip, we met several couples in the same CG time after time and shared experiences. Some that we are still in contact with. We even visit each other in our travels.

Sounds like a caravan might be of interest.
