We have an 07 Carriage 5'er with the Carrier Heat Pump, controlled by the Carrier Remote Control.
I find this to be an unsatisfactory setup. Although the remote has an LCD screen displaying the temperature you set, the remote just sends up or down signals to the ceiling unit; the temp on the LCD has no relation to what the ceiling unit is trying to achieve in terms of temperature. Worse, it seems the ceiling unit is unresponsive to the remote; although it beeps that an up-or-down temp request has been received, the unit does not otherwise respond; e.g. you may have to click the up-temp button three or four times to get the heat to come on.
Anyway, what I'm looking for is anyone who's installed a regular wall t-stat for this unit. Help appreciated!
Thanks,
Dave

I had the same issue. I installed a wall-mounted Lux150 thermostat for heater control. The A/C is still controlled by the remote.
The Carrier ceiling unit can be replaced, which will allow for both the heater and A/C to be controled by the wall-mounted thermostat.
