For those of you who have done some research and may know about both the RT and PW, I'd like to ask the following questions regarding gas models, years 1996 to 2000:

1. Is the fresh water tank about the same size in both?

2. Is storage about the same in both? Or does the RT have more storage because of the aisle shower?

3. Is there an option for an extra cabinet/wardrobe in the PW like there is in the RT by replacing the seat behind the driver's seat?

4. Do they both get about the same miles per gallon?

5. What are the major differences between the PW and RT? Advantages? Disadvantages?

6. Are there any other comparable class Bs?

Thanks!
Mar

Hi Mar... welcome from a fellow member of our little Yahoo site.

I think it might help if you were more specific about which PW and which RT. There are so many variations of layout and storage that there is no one answer to lots of your questions.

IMHO, they are all of such similar quality, storage, mileage... that it comes down to the one important thing... what floor plan do you want? Which one works best for you... not any of us.

You can probably find many of your answers on the company websites.

Agree with Mumkin. Also check out the sites selling used rv's they are loaded with pictures and descriptions. Knowing what state you are from would probably help in getting you information on units for sale in your area. You do have to look at them and try them out.

If you haven't already, read the FAQ's here on the opening page of the B forum. There's some good info on buying used. Pay particular attention to the sections on the test drive and how to check out the equipment, especially the generator.

I think most here will agree that by that age, quality is more an issue of how the particular unit has been kept up, a good bit more than whether RT or PW made it. They both use pretty much the same appliances and equipment, except maybe the air conditioner.

Maybe I can help narrow things down a bit. I have been doing what I can to help Mar during her search, so I have a pretty good idea what type of rigs she is looking for. As for models to compare, I don't know the Pleasure Ways well enough to give you specific model names, but the comparative Roadtrek would be the 1994-2000 190's so whatever Pleasure Way offers that is similar would be the basic idea.

Hope that helps some.

I am traveling so I'm not in any one place for long. Right now I'm in NW Indiana for a few days.
