I've heard some rumblings that the Quartzite RV show is fading fast and there are far fewer vendors of RV stuff than there used to be at this gathering. Is that true?
We are planning to come up from Mexico just to go to this. It is a long drive from south Texas, don't want to do it if it is a waste of time now.
Thanks.

I was there last winter for a month or so. There was allot of talk about how general population of folks was down like 30 percent. Rumors had it that the vendors were down also because of cost for there rental booths had gone up and most felt it was going to be a set up in Quartzite setting up in Phoenix. I know I had no problems finding a place, since there were allot of open spots in most of the RV Parks. JM2Cents Bill

Last year I thought there were more people camping than the year before, but fewer at the swapmeets. Who know's what it will be like this year, I'll find out, can't wait!!!

Well, when we started going to Quartzsite several years ago, it was great - lot of querky little vendors along the roads, a bunch of RVers having a great time boondocking together. But, about three years ago the large RV dealers took over - bought the prime property and ran off the small vendor. We still go, but only for one day which we drive from Blythe. If it ever gets rid of somme of the big RV dealers and rents again to the little vendor guys, we will return to boondock with our group (who also do not attend any longer). Oh well, it was fun for a little while.

It is still a hoot if you have nothing better to do. Enjoy. It is another place to go.

We go every year with a great group of friends and boondock on BLM. Seem to have a GREAT time no matter what. There seemed to be a few less major vendors last year but still plenty to see and lots of fun. Can't wait until January !!!

I'll agree with that. We were north of town and there were many more than previous years. Yeah the vendor population was down but it didn't seem to affect anything. Sure would be nice to have a repeat of last years weather tho..

Another question: Can you get RV service there, oil and filter change and grease all the zirts, at reasonable cost? We used to have a guy in Albuquerque who would come to the rig and do it all right on the spot very reasonably.
