I have a 2002 Palomino Pinto with an Atwood Furance that stopped working inexplicably while camping recently in cold weather. Furance had been working and then just quit. Propane tank 3/4 full; did not appear to be propane problem as the stove worked ok. Checked all fuses and both breakers (a 15 and a 20). Odd thing is that neither of the over head lights would work, either, but all the outlets would as well as the a/c (when we turned it on just to check). Prior to the furnace dying on us, there had a been a little red light that would flash when hitting the electronic ignition button--that light was no longer blinking after furnace failed. Seems to be an electrical issue since that light is out plus the overhead lights would not work, but at a loss as to what to check other than the fuses and breakers. thanks for your help!

The furnace and overhead lights work off the 12V side so it sounds like a fuse on the 12V or the converter (charges the batteries) died and the batteries ran down.

My money's on the galley switch. They are used to prevent the ceiling lights from going on with the roof closed. Depending on the camper many other things, like your furnace (which is totally 12 volt), can be wired into the curcuit. I'm not familiar where the galley switch is located in the Palaminos. Common locations are between the top and bottom of a a flip over/fold level galley, behind a plate that closes the switch when a bunk end is completely pulled out, or on the lip on the box where it's opened when the roof is raised.

I tried the galley switch and the lights still did not come on. I don't know how it could be a battery issue as I don't currently have a battery for the camper. All the fuses looked ok but we replaced all of them anyway and still no overhead lights or furnace. Thanks for your help, tho, guys. Perhaps the gally switch has gone bad?

If you don't have a battery, your converter is the source of your 12-volt power, and that would be what to check - I would think. it takes the 120 volt from the campground electric and converts it to 12-volt ... maybe it overheated and shut down.
