Few to consider:
In TN there is an OK KOA in Sweetwater. In Lenoir City Lazy Acres RV Park has large pull thrus. In Elko, GA, Twin Oaks RV Park and Campgrounds is one we use as a stopover. If you have not already, check www.rvparkreviews.com. Have a good trip.

We have used two KOA,s, the first one is Chattanooga South, just south of the TN.GA state line. It is just west of the I-75 (about two hundred yards. Large pull through sites Water, electric, sewer,(hilly and sounds of the I75). Nothing special, but clean new rest rooms if your rig is still winterized.
The other is south of Atlanta, another KOA at Forsyth GA. on the east side of the I-75. Again hilly but they have pull through sites with water, electric and sewer.
Another location is Agrirama located at i-75 exit 63B on the west side of the highway. They have parking lot parking, primarily for overnighters with full hookups. $20.00 a night an then an easy drive to central Florida areas. http://agrirama.com/main/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=33

Georgia has several state parks just off the interstate. North of Atlanta is Red Rock Mountain State Park, 50 miles south of Atlanta is High Falls State Park, and further down the road is Reed Bingham State Park. We also belonged to a group that held several rallies at Twin Oaks RV Park, exit 127, and its nice for a stop over. It is also a Passport America CG and you can get in for 1/2 price. All of Georgia State Parks are nice.

You will have to check to see if they are open, but a couple years ago, we stayed at Cove Lake TN State park, North of Knoxville. Right off the interstate, found a pull-thru. Electric with central water points, don't remember the cost, but it must have been right.

We stayed at Atlanta South KOA once, and will not stay again. There are many permanents and dogs running loose. If it's just an overnite stop-over, you might want to try a Flying J. They have free RV parking and showers for a fee. Check Woodalls, they have dates of operation for parks.

Thanks everyone for all the quick response and stopover suggestions for TN/GA. And, as suggested, I'll check ahead to make sure they are open during winter, especially state parks. Anyone traveling thru Ohio and using our Ohio State Parks enroute to FL - such as Alum Creek SP, which is right off I-71 just north of Columbus, they were talking about closing Dec, Jan, and Feb. due to budget cuts when we camped there in mid Oct. Again, thanks for the info.
