I'll be towing a Hummer H2. I know some of you probably tow same. I plan to get a Blue Ox setup for H2. Probably 15,000 tow bar or maybe just 10,000. Not much difference in price from what I can see.

Are their any issues I should know of or any special issues? I read where the battery much be disconnected on H2. I saw where there was a unit I could install to avoid this issue.

Thanks for any feedback.

Should be no problem at all. The front clip on the H2 is the same as the 2500 Suburban we tow. We've towed for over 20K miles quite happily.

Not sure why you would need to disconnect the battery as your steering column shouldn't lock and thus not need a key in the ignition while being towed. Check your owners manual under "Being Towed" as GM covers the steps really well.

Not sure why either, but I read somewhere (that was selling a product) that it needed to be disconnected.

I have a 2003 H2 that I will be having set up for towing. There is no reference in the owner's manual about a battery disconnect. I will check again. Maybe, your model year requires it.
