I've been lurking in this forum for quite some time. We were able to sell our TT and are now looking to get into a fiver. We have found a floor plan that we love, but, we are looking to see if there are any others to compare price and quality to.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an "entry level" fifth wheel with the following:
- quad bunkhouse: Four beds are great, however, we are considering rigs with 3 beds and a jack knife sofa.
- U-Shaped dinette. We have 3 pre teens and the standard booth doesn't work.
- Single entrance from exterior. Our TT had a 2nd entrance thru the bathroom and we didn't use it nor like it much.

The plan we have found is a K-Z Durango D305 BH. (Also Spree 305BH).

We have a '07 Chevy 2500HD with factory towing pkg.
Thanks for any ideas!

The Jayco 31.5 Eagle SuperLite 5er has 4 bunks up front, nice queen slide rear bedroom, XX Large Dinette (More like a Denny's Booth!), and Jayco loads it up with way more standard equipment than the other brands even offer! Come with Power Awnings, Exterior Speakers, Big LCD Surround sound system, A/C, Goodyear Radial USA tires, MOR/Ryde, outside showers, Roof Ladder, Tinted safety glass, Dexter auto-adjusting brakes!...etc. Jayco also has a 2 year warranty and the best quality reputation in the industry! Good luck..we've had 3 Jayco bunkhouse RV's so far! Really a lifesaver with kids and their pals!

A Jayco is not just an RV, it's a life choice!

Agreed, the Jayco 31.5 Eagle SuperLite 5er is pretty nicely equipped, but we found the bunks quite short for taller kids. My daughter is 5'7+ and she pretty much topped out in those bunks. As for the U-dinette, that was our Holy Grail for some time as well and we never really found anything that fit the bill. The KZ Spree 305 would likely be the closest match to your needs - have heard great things about their customer service. Have you actually been in the KZ Spree 305? The only complaint I have is that the interior seems more focused on function than form...

Another option (although I'd rather have a smooth surface siding...)

Thanks for the replys. Unfortunatly, each one is missing one piece.

The Outback doesn't have 3 bunks.
The Jayco doesn't have a U-shaped dinette.
The Puma has a second exit door.

Would be interested in knowing what Animal Planet means by "the interior seems more focused on function than form... " and I agree with the smooth siding.

I guess I'd simply say that the interior is not lavish. Its perfectly functional, and I like KZ's reputation, but after 8 years in a pop-up, I was looking for a bit more style and higher-end feel. If the KZ works for you, go for it.

One other thing I've noticed with RVs/Campers/Fifth Wheels, in so many ways, you get to pick a few of your favorite features/needs, but you rarely get every single thing you want (and in some cases you'll actually get extra options you don't want - like a rear door). Just figure out which things are deal breakers, and which are nice-to-haves... We've finally found ours (Jayco 355fbhs) - again almost perfect... If it had a U-Dinette, I'd have nothing to complain about. Enjoy your search!

Hi

I have a Pilgrim 37QB4S-H5 although they went out of business recently, we love the unit it has a huge bunk house with 2 slides at the rear, one door, and a good size master room. The trim and finish is above most other manufactures and we,ve had no issues so far we bought it in 2008 and I would'nt change it for anything else. We also looked hard and long and it was the only one we found with this floor plan.

you can PM me if you want and I will send you pics. Im sure there are probably other brands who may have a floor plan similar.

Good luck
