The only way I could get my DW to go camping again after the pup tent experience, was to make sure she had her own shower and rest room facilities!!

I thought that is the reason they put the toilet and the shower in this TT. I'll go one more for you, there are people out there that use the stool but do not put the used toilet paper in the toilet, but use a waste basket with a lid on it for the toilet paper, now that stinks in my way of thinking!!!!!! and down right disgusting.

I have no clue as to why people wouldn't use them. They weren't put in RVs for decoration. We do have a friend who showers in the campground shower but he's a large guy. We use ours because that's what they're in there for.

Pointless debate.

Use of the built in facilities is a matter of each owner's personal choice. No big deal why or why not.

As for me, sometimes we use ours own and sometimes we use the campground facilities.

We use the toilet, however, we don't use the shower. Several reasons (3 of them really, see signature) for not using the shower...foremost, that is where the kitty litter box is! Our FunFinder has one of those "mini bathtubs" in it. Perfect place for the litter box. DW made a liner to go into it and the box sits on that. Cats can't throw the litter all over the place and whatever odor there is gets taken out by the bathroom vent fan which we leave run continuously. No fuss, no mess.

The other reason we don't / wouldn't bother using the shower is that we pay for the CG showers and their unlimited hot water / drain capacity. No point in taking military showers to save tank space or run the risk of running out of hot water. Nothing nicer at the end of a long day of hiking / biking trails than taking a long, relaxing hot shower. Two years on my first of two 30# LPG tanks and it is still about 50% full...

Use both of them. In fact, main selling point of my TT was the generous tub & shower space relative to the TT's size. If at a partial hookup, I've got a blue tote to make grey water runs to the dump as necessary. It really isn't a big deal. I pull it with the hitch ball.

You people have campgrounds with SHOWER FACILITIES?
WOW, what a concept...
Oh, wait, come to think of it, yeah, the Great Falls KOA does, as does the Air Force Base Famcamp. We average perhaps once a year in each of them.
Other than that, NONE of the campgrounds we go to has anything other than vault toilets and water faucets. Often, there is also no garbage service, "Pack it in, "Pack it out" is plainly posted!
Dumping the blue totes into the vault toilets is forbidden.
Dumping grey water into the brush is forbidden.
We learn to live with it.
