Ford has a lot on the ball these days. They had turned around their management and product lines well in advance of the recession and it is paying off.

One thing that I don't think gets mentioned a lot is the engineering benefit of the Volvo acquisition. A lot of Swedish DNA has found its way into the latest generation Ford cars and this has been to their benefit. If you ride in a Fusion or Taurus, they feel very solid.

Possible. But wasn't Volvo sold to China early this year?

Maybe the car czar will study the success of Ford and implement similar changes over at GM.

Ford's success so far has been new and we don't know if they will be successful in the long run. They have danced close to bankruptcy a lot in the past and the resent past.

Better the car Czar check out the long term successes in the car industry, Toyota and Honda and implement their way of doing things.

Go with the long term winners...the key words.."long term."..

I wish Ford the best, but 1 quarter does not make a solid company. For all we know Ford has a 2 billion dollar note due next month. If they cant service that note..... Mulalley is a top notch ceo though and I would not bet against him or Ford at this point. Its nice to see success, even if its only one quarter.
