Many good tips so far.. also try to leave wet clothing like raincoats & boots outside under the awning or maybe in the TV. And avoid boiling water in uncovered pots.

So I think I will go with the MaxxAir Vent covers. Which ones? I have one vent in the bathroom with a fan. And two more vents (no fan) one in each bedroom. I see they have a MaxxAir II with more vent space. Can that be used with my vent fan or do I need a special one for that? And would getting the $300 TurboMax (comes with a fan) help pull more air/moisture out? (on the ones without fans) Thanks for any tips.

My bathroom has a 12V exhaust fan built into it and I have no issues with the max air on it. The TurboMax will pull air out or push air in. It is similar to a Fantastic fan. The only difference is that the blades are located in the housing instead of in the opening. It will definitely move a lot of air!

On my 31' trailer I put the regular MaxxAir on the one in the bedroom in the rear and one in the living room area in the front and for just two of us have been fine. You might consider the MaxxAir II for the one with the fan vent in the bathroom.

If you have the typical bathroom vent and fan combo it is very noisy and moves very little air. We have a MaxAir over the bathroom and at a rally last year we had a dealer come and install Fantastic fans in a dozen of our coaches. Now if the bathroom door is not closed all the way on low speed the door will get sucked shut. Medium will move a lot of air and High is for emergency use only. Even on high there is not as much noise as the little fan we replaced.

Thanks for the advice... Here are pictures showing the Maxxair II open and closed.
I thought I would be able to open the vents all the way, but they should be open enough to get the air flow through out the camper. There is one more Maxxair II on the vent in the front bedroom.

I always search what I am looking for, before I post. But when the same thread comes up 12 times, it gives you too many pages of info to sift through. Like this thread has 27 entries, so if everyone said 'condensation' this thread would show up 27 times. anyway...
I am very grateful for the help and advice, and I can't wait to go camping again!

We are presently in Florida, however, we are from Washington State, and do use a dehumidifier which is about the size of an end table - AND we have vent covers, etc., and one thing about the dehumidifier is that it does produce heat, so on occasion have had to run the dehumifier and then the AC to cool off .
Depending on how many are sleeping in the rv, and whether you have jaloused (sp?) windows determines whether you can open a window in the rain. I have asthma so we have had to use the dehumidifier here, in Arkansas, and in Oregon, or anywhere that there is high humidity.

1. Using propane heat. That adds moisture to the air as a biprouct of combustion.
It is true that moisture is a byproduct of combustion but RV propane furnaces vent outside so none of that moisture or other products of combustion come into the RV. There will be moisture from cooking but a vent should be left open when cooking.
The Maxxair covers over the roof vents will allow you to open the vents in the rain. However, with a light mist in the air, the incoming air will already be very humid, so this will not help much.
Although the outside air is humid, as it is warmed to room temp, AKA 72 deg., it is able to absorb even more moisture.
Better insulated rigs don't condense moisture nearly as much as you describe. With 5 people I would want to have a little "fresh" air flowing through because of the potential carbon dioxide buildup which at a certain stage will cause headaches among other symptoms, as well as to clear the air after all those burritos.
The air doesn't have to leave through your roof vent. Don't forget you can use your windows which you may need to crack open a little even using the MaxxAir Vent.
