Hi 09FLSTC,
I think you may find they are bit heavier than a six volt battery. And a bit more pricey.
2 volt weight scroll down this page.

Many people have 4 six volts so 6 two volts is only another ~150 lbs. Getting more interesting. I 'might' have room for 6, will have to check.

Hi Don,
I was looking at Lifeline and the GPL4 6 volt and 2 volt were identicle at 66 lbs assuming that is correct on ther website. I'm sure they come in all flavors and weight and I would need two more is where I came up with another 150 lbs for 6 instead of 4. Thanks.

Hi 09FLSTC,
What are the amp-hours on the "light weight" 2 volt cells? Do you have a link to share? Thanks in advance.

I was looking at the Lifeline website. I could have mis read but thought they were 66 lbs each and 660 AH and/or if 6 were in series. www.lifelinebatteries.com
Feel free to correct me, I don't know batteries that well.

Well.. "Battery" = Collection of cells
THe 2 volt "Batteries" are properly called cells
Now I use six of those to get 12 volts in my rig.. THey are packaged 3 to a box
The box is, of course, an INterstate U-2200 (Six volt golf car battery)
Short version of what I"m saying.. No reason it won't work.. In fact the first time I (or rather the club I belonged to) decided to try a Ham Radio Field day on battery power.. That's how we did it. 2 volt Edison cells (Glass encased lead acid batteries)

When cells are connected in series, the voltage and weight are added but the amp hours stays the same.
I wish I had the room for those cells.

We have many of these in a large battery bank for an industrial UPS. 480 Vac output. They are about 20-24 inches tall! They are also clear, you can see the plates and the acid. I've often wondered why can't they give us clear cases. Probably don't want us to see what is inside!

Lots of Japanese motorcycle batteries have been clear since the late fifties. Sure would be neat for our RV bats. With my slide out battery tray, I could just entertain myself on the patio watching the batteries bubble bubble, toil and trouble.
