Has anyone been to a campground owned by Morgan Resorts? Seems they are buying up all the campgrounds in my area. The two I have been to were previously privately owned and well kept. Since Morgan took over they have become run down and miss managed. Are all Morgan Resorts like this? I don't want to waste another camping trip.

I have only been to one and it had been just recently acquired. Major disappointment

I stayed at Buena campground this summer and found it worse that it was when private. I also stayed at a Morgan Resort in Champion, PA and it really needed work to make it nice once again. After the trip to Buena, I will not stay in that campground any more. I had junk in my site and the bath house was a mess and my shower did not even have a shower head.

They bought Grand Lakes Resort near Ocala where we are/were regulars. Can't say that I have seen any real improvement. They caught up on the maintenance some but it was never in too bad a shape. Did away with the free wifi and now charge which I think was a poor decision. I will now start looking for another campground because of it.

We went to one of their what they called resorts and would never go back. They now call us about once a month telling us about their discounted rates, and specials. That is even after they were asked to not call back. The resort is in the NC mountains. If their other places are as bad as this one; they need to take a hard look at their company. Now this is only MY opinion and I am entitled to it.

I used to stay at Buena all the time as a kid. That was about 20+yrs ago. It was great then. I took my kids there this summer and could not believe how bad it was. Even if they paid me I would not stay there again. The bath houses were so bad and no shower heads. The pool had some kind of film on the surface and had all kinds of stuff floating in it. Seriously you could not even see the bottom. I gave them the benefit of a doubt and stayed at another one of the "Resorts" in Jersey for Halloween. I felt like I was parked in someones back yard for the weekend.

All of the above is true. In addition many of their resorts make you pay upfront, not one day like most legitimate resorts, but the whole reservation. You will have a difficult time getting any refund, even if it is a legitimate reason and you pay with a credit card.

I believe that a lot of marginal and even some ok resorts succumb to a corporate business like Morgan Resorts to fill their camps. Another victim of a slumping economy.

They purchased Camden Hills Resort in Rockport, Maine. Will have to check out the improvements and feed back on RV Review.

See you on the road!

For years, we went to a nice private CG, in Indiana. It was great. Than Morgan bought it. In just a few months, it went from great to nearly unbearable. I shall never again go there!!!

It's a real shame because they are ruining a lot of nice campgrounds.
