The Lake Placid / Wilmington KOA is very nice and rustic I would recomend that

We were there this past summer and had a great time Also check out the cliff jumping in the Ausible River at the CG I did it with my oldest son and had a blast!

I also did a few canoe trips on the Ausible River between the rapids and a canoe trip on lake Wilmington, Very beautiful country!

At lake Placis we got the Passport Pass for all th e Olympic Venues, we went to the top of the Ski Jumps saw a ski jump competittion, Saw a figureskating event, Rode the bobslead run went to the top of Whiteface Mtn on the Gondla and took the Auto Road also.

Funnything about going to Lake Placid, We never saw Lake Placid up close! the lake in the ctr of town is actually Mirrior Lake. The only time we saw Lake Placid was from the top of Whiteface Mtn off in the distance.

I've been to Keene - Keene Valley often. I'm really into genealogy and have many ancestors buried there.

It sounds to me like your best bet may be the KOA. They have a small wading pool near the larger pool. Their roadways are fairly flat and are good for cycling. They have a huge barn (garage?) where they rent all sorts of equipment. I recall seeing pedal bikes, regular bikes, mini golf equipment, etc. They also do hay rides in the evening, movies in the great room above the office, etc. They have movies for rent in the office -- and quite a few had G ratings. I remember thinking what a great idea that was for a rainy day! We spent just a few days there this past summer and are eager to return.

Joyce--then your ancestors and mine are probably in the same graveyard...making us neighbors (well, sorta, in a weird and morbid way). Thanks for the tips on KOA...we're leaning heavily in that direction!!

There's a high probability that we are related, not just "neighbors." If you're interested in genealogy, contact me off list and we'll compare family lines!
